Covered Bridge entrance to my subdivision... from I45.
My house is just a few blocks up the hill. One more foot and I'm flooded with the rest of my neighbors. Of course we had to evacuate Monday morning, but very thankful of our situation. Close friends and neighbors have water too their roofs. |

Mike,
http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...d.php?t=658442 When you have some down time amigo...I would start at the last page & work backwards if interested. We have 2-3 of the best weather guys I have ever witnessed on this hunting forum. I get my storm news from here & these guys called it way early like always. Sorry I missed this as I don't cruise the sub-forums & been worried about you...cannot tell you how many friends, you included are dealing with this. Know that I have seen caravans leaving the Valley with boats & 4 wheelers headed your way the past 3-4 days. Knee mail going out...gonna be a long ordeal. The panic has already started & the RGV is even out of gasoline today. The domino effect is in play. <>< Paul |

this is what I've been tracking hourly.
My house is at 128.1 and this thing crested last night so today was a great day in my case. Not so much for others. |

If you will keep an eye on the last pages from time to time we have eyes on the the ground giving updates & what roads are blocked / open...biggest concern like you state are the new releases / dam crests and how they are going to affect said areas.
Folks wanting to help need to realize areas are raising / receding / raising...what may get you in, may not let you out...far from over. Glad you and yours are safe...white wing season seems silly at this point & will be bitter sweet. We are actually trying to find local hunters as this would be our 13th annual hunt, but 90% of our buddy's are from east tx / La. Feel guilty having a good time when so many of our friends have literally lost everything. Sorta hard to wrap your head around. |

I am Texas Army National Guard, currently staging in San Marcos and heading in tomorrow with 27 pallets of water, mre's and other rations. Probably to Beaumont area.

finally got back here.....We had to evacuate our neighborhood Sunday....was able to get back in on Monday to come back for a few things we forgot....but the roads are impassable from all directions now. The neighborhood is still dry....but we are about 1/2 mile as the crow flies from the Brazos River....its out of its banks and surround it. we have a levee around it and a pumping station.....but that won't do much good for this as where would it be pumped to? DUH our levee is at 32ft.....and as of right now, the river is predicted to crest at 32ft at 1 a.m. Saturday morning. I am tracking the rivers around us using the same site as Mike.....I do have some hope, for when we evacuated the predicted level if the river near me was to crest at 40 foot.....that puts roughly 9 feet in my home.......now its down to 32ft......I keep praying for everyone.....and there is hope.

Such a horrible situation for all those impacted. Hope recovery goes as well as possible. My sister managed to get to safety & was hold up in an RV park close to College Station for 5 days. They made it back to their place on Galveston Island on Wednesday. There was some water under the house (up on posts) some things damaged under there in storage area and her husband's recently restored Trans Am did not look to have fared too badly. (She said he wrapped it in tarps like a burrito. LOL). But when they got upstairs they found bedroom windows had broken in & there was a good bit of water that had ruined lots of things including some walls & furnishings. However, all in all, they were very lucky. They even have power & potable water. Stay safe everyone.
We got the remnants of the storm here last night & some local flooding, trees down, etc. Our place is fine thankfully.
