It Depends...those who own an SS will say get the SS, those with the 6 will say stay with the 6. I have the SS but I say stay with the 6....just to be different.

I don't think it comes down to that, many posts have given sound financial advice. I also agree that while upgrading to an SS is always awesome you are going to get screwed financially. IMO keep the car for a few years and purchase a used SS or ZL1 later down the line.

It depends on how your going to use it. Daily driver 6cyl, weekend car 8cyl.

Is the milage really that much difference between the two? Maybe a couple mpg at the most

I daily my SS with lots of full throttle and get 15mpg average. I bought it to enjoy it, not to get good MPG. I imagine driving a V6 in a similar manner would not give much better results. It's really up to the driver to get decent MPG, either car is capable of being efficient.

If you can afford to, then get the SS. You'll enjoy the huge performance difference--guarantee it! I love flooring it when entering an on ramp or getting up to 60 after a red light on a highway...so much fun! It comes in handy when you need to pass a LOT of people too.
