The Transformers movie started the fire for me. I absolutely fell in love but being just out of HS and starting college I knew it would be an uphill battle. I purchased my first car an 08 malibu with lower miles. Was only a four cylinder and had so much bad luck with that car it was crazy. Spent ALOT fixing stuff on it and even had the cat converter replaced... So I always would go and build my own Camaro in my spare time and took a screen shot of a 2LS Camaro black with IO stripes.
So eventually I decided to test drive a Camaro and my great uncle worked at George Weber Chevy! Test drove a blue ray metallic 1lt and fell in love! However, knew it would be a struggle to get my own loan being only 21 and insurance could kill me.. Well after 5 days I finally got the loan at a great rate and for payment I wanted. Although the dealership didn't have the Camaro I wanted. So they drove from Illinois down to Tennessee to pick it up and the joy of driving MY CAR the first time was amazing!! Self accomplishment for sure, busted my ass and got exactly what I wanted! It's at 22,000 miles and have had zero issues. No complaints! Love hearing all the stories for sure and without a doubt feel blessed to be driving even a v6 Camaro!

I was at home browsing the autotrader website with my morning coffee in fall 2011. Saw a 2010 2SS Camaro on there for 31,500, 2k mileage used. I'm like wtf? They are all going for 38k everywhere. So I called the dealer and he said the car is mint they just don't want to hang onto it for the winter. Drove to the town an hour away (my truck was in for warranty work and I had a rental). Test drove it checked it out and bought it. (After getting them to knock another grand off). They drove me to the nearest rental place to drop off my rental and I drove it home. There was a car cover in the trunk too!
A year later I saw a convertible 45th on a dealers website for 42 grand, 2000 miles on it stickered at 54k. 6 hours away from me. So I called them. Said it was the bosses car and he just got a ZR1 vette. Sent them pics of my car and they offered 32k for trade, got them to 40k on the vert and did the whole deal over the phone. Waited 3 weeks for the snow to clear in the passes and drove down to the coast and did the swap. That's my story

I fell in love with the 5th gen when we saw Transformers in 2007. Every year we go to the San Jose International Auto Show, and that year my son, who was 5 at the time couldn't wait to see 'Bumblebee". This was in January of 2008 and Chevrolet had the 2010 Camaro concept there. As soon as we walked in and he saw the giant Chevy Bowtie, he knew where Bumblebee was. He was so happy to get his picture taken with it.
Then when the Camaro came out, there was one out front at a local dealership. A yellow V6. He was able to sit in this one and was pretty happy. For the next few years we'd see Camaros on the street and point them out to one another. I would tell him that once they became affordable used cars, maybe I would look into buying one. Fast forward to September 2013. Out of curiosity, I starting looking into used Camaros. After finding this site and shopping around, I found that 2010's didn't have certain options that 2011`s and newer had. So 2011 and some 2012's were in my price range. By now I knew what color and options I wanted and started browsing the local and internet sales sites form time to time. In early October, I found the Camaro I would eventually buy online at a Chevy truck dealership three or four hours south of me. The price was a little bit higher that I wanted to pay, buy I kept an eye on it. By Halloween the price dropped a couple thousand dollars. By Thanksgiving, it dropped a couple thousand more. I checked agian a week before Christmas and the car was still there. So I decided, what the heck and shot them an offer. This entire time, I never mentioned to my son, or anyone else that I was looking at Camaros. I already had my own financing secured through my bank and after a day or so, we settled on a price that I thought was fair. After the value of my trade in plus a few thousand in cash I had been putting to the side since paying off my previous car, the final price of the Camaro was well within my budget. As part of the dealers final offer, they threw in delivering the car to me for an extra $200. Not having to get up early and make a 6 hours round trip was well worth the $200. At this point, I still hadn't told my son. On December 13th at around 10:00 am, a little old man drove up in my "new to me Camaro. We sat at my kitchen table, I signed the paperwork, he took the key to my trade in and drove off in my 2008 Saturn Aura. Since I had the day off work to wait for the Camaro to be delivered, I decided to pick my son up from school and suprise him. Usually his mom picks him up, but occasionally I would if his mom couldn't. So seeing me once he exited his classroom wasn't too much of a surprise. We walked to the street in front of the school where he assumed my Saturn or Suburban would be parked. As we walk up to where the Camaro was parked, he pointed it out to me. He mentioned how cool it was and that it was a SS with a V8. It was then that I popped the trunk and put his backpack inside. He had a look of shock and amazement on his face. Then I opened the door for him and told him to sit inside. As I got in, he still had the same look on his face. That when I told him it was our Camaro. That I traded in the Saturn and bought it. He had a look on his face like it was Christmas morning and he had got every toy he ever wanted. He gets the same look still when we drive it. Especially when I pick him up or drop him off at school. Or when we see how excited some people get when they just saw Bumblebee. To be honest, if it wasn't for my son, a Camaro probably wouldn't of been my next car. He's 12 now and it's great that he's becoming just as interested in cars as I am. When we add modifications, I let him know the budget and give him a few choices on what we can do. The cat-back exhaust, ZL1 grille and style of stripes were his decision. With a little subliminal coaxing by me :-) He's even right there to do the majority of the work installing parts or even wash it. In four years he'll be old enough to drive it. I know he can't wait.

I really wish I could of kept my Aura. But the Camaro, Suburban and Aura would of been too many vehicles for just me. And the Suburban has more uses that the Saturn. My Aura was actually pretty unique. They didn't make the XE V6 with a black interior and cloth seats. Mine was silver with grey interior and grey cloth seats. Shortly after buying it I got a pretty good deal on all the interior trim and carpet from a wrecked XR with black interior. Then I found some black cloth seats from a wrecked 2009 Malibu.

I wanted a reliable commuter that could do 20k miles/year and not depreciate too horribly, didn't want to spend more than $20k. Something I could buy for cheap. I'm a Camaro guy at heart (this is lucky #7 since my youth). So, I picked up my venerable 1LS for cheap.
I was reaching a point of frustration with another vehicle, really didn't like driving it. So this black 1LS pops up on the internet, brand new, for $18,700. Got in the car, drove down there, and drove home with a new Camaro. All was right in the world again. |

I had a 3.6 XE with the metal flake charcoal paint and the brown leather interior with every option. It really was a fantastic car, but when Saturn went out of business, I just couldn't convince myself to keep it.
The guy who bought it off me got it for a steal. I think I sold it to him for $14.4k which was exactly what I owed on it... would have gotten $22k+ if Saturn didn't go under. |

Well, I have been doing a little research here and there on the Camaros, and I talked my better half into letting me buy one. So, I found one that I couldn't live without...and was rear-ended in my truck, which I was going to use as a trade-in. So, the next morning, I was driving past the dealership and it was gone.
I pretty much pouted all day long about it, and on the way home, I noticed mine sitting on a different dealership lot. Interestingly, when I arrived to get my rental car, they had a 2014 V6 Camaro for me. Aha! So, driving it, I fell in love with it. Fast forward a few days to last Tuesday. My son departed for US Navy boot camp, and to preoccupy myself, I hit a few tattoo parlours and on the way home, I drove past the Chevy dealership. And there it was. About an hour later, I left the rental at the dealership (they were okay with that) and drove off in my Camaro. And the rest is history. |

I'd been Jonesing for a M6 muscle car for a couple years... wife talked me into getting a 15 Ford Explorer Sport w/ a Ecoboost V6... yeah, that didn't cut it.
After doing my homework, decided on a 1LE. |

Had an 07 new body style Silverado. Went with my then girlfriend (now wife) to the dealership as she was looking for a new car. The salesman asked if I would be interested in test driving a 2010 SS they had just got in. Wife said go ahead, so we jumped in the car and went for a test drive. The salesman told me to get on it as we started to get on the freeway, and by time I hit the top of the on ramp and looked down and saw that I was doing 95 mph, that was it.
She spent a week test driving and researching different cars. I spent 30 minutes and haven't regretted it since. Oh she picked up a new Malibu, but parked it and went for a cruise in my new car as soon as we got home. That was one happy salesman, sold two cars at the same time. Yes my neighbors think I'm strange.......Hello my name is Sarge and I have a car addiction...LOL

I was running on the treadmill at my local gym on a Saturday. I had just turned 50 the week before and my marriage was failing fast so I was getting more fit and healthy for my own sake. On the tv above the treadmill was an autoshow highlighting a Limegreen 2013 Mustang. All of a sudden I thought "I can get one of those!" A muscle car for me was not on my agenda until that split second!!!
So I started trolling local Ford lots on Sundays for a couple of weeks. And then I thought I should look into a Camaro too just in case.... I saw a 2012 on the GM dealers lot and knew right away no more Mustang. I bought my car a week later. No regrets PS marriage ended 4 month later & I kept the car! |

My brother had a '76 Camaro that he purchased new. He still had it when he passed away in 2012. His sons still have the car, work on it and drive it. When it became time to retire my 2010 HHR SS, I decided to see what Camaro driving was all about. So, after researching the Camaro stable, I decided on the 1LE and absolutely love driving it. I suspect I will be buying a new set of tires for it before it is one year old. My 2010 SS still had the original tires on it when I traded it in. I wonder why the 1LE tires won't last that long.............................................. .....!!

It was a very reliable car that never needed anything but regular maintenance. I really wish the Camaro had the ignition in the dash like the Aura. I really liked that. |

I went to look at Camaros on line and found a Ruby red 2ss at the local dealer, go there with my wife and its gone. I knew I wanted a new fifth gen before they even showed what they were going to look like. The ruby was gone, they did have a manual in yellow but it was a 1ss and the nicest they had on the lot was a 2ss triple black vert l99 2011 in the show room...... so I took it without a test drive....
Traded off a almost paid for Aveo and a 2006 Harley Davidson f-150..... Just had put a clutch in the Aveo after 40k and new tires on the truck and a spendy suck the plug out plug change on the f-150, ( their two piece design and the lack of coating made the tips break off in the cylinders of 4 of 8 ). SO yes they sucked to me the truck was nice but slow at 300 h.p., the Aveo just a commuter box that was soon to need a timing belt$... Had the black car a year wanted a zl1 but the dealership moved locations and when they ordered one they ignored my deposit and desire for a Crystal red one etc...and got grey, and a auto. I wanted a stick in red so I took my Camaro to another town and bought a 2ss in my color with all the options I wanted and said oh well to the zl1 and got my money back. DO not regret it, love the new red car and the stick kicks it compared to the auto especially built now. The black was hard to keep clean and the top sucked cat hair from our five cats. I treated it with Sunbrella to repel water, took excellent care of the car and only curbed a rim once and traded it off for 33K with 5thousand on the odometer in a year ..bought for 40k in 2011 late in the year... It was worth it though to trade in because of my love of the color and my wifes....also she liked me not getting the 60k zl1....lol SO of course I built it and still am. And we go on road trips and have fun at car shows and even just going anywhere as its my daily.
