It might be bad year for my checkbook, too. I've always liked the current Challenger, even if I didn't care much for the interior, and it was a bit too large and heavy for my tastes. But with the 2015, from the interior pics I've seen, they've seemingly redressed that particular issue, and the exterior tweaks they gave it (which is a bit funny; I never really cared for the changes they made for the '71 Challenger regarding the grille and taillights, yet those same changes on the '15 look great). The price is a pleasant surprise, too. Also LOVE the Sublime Green paint. Yes, a Scat Pack 392 manual in Sublime Green with the shaker hood sounds very, very tempting right now...

Between this, the '15 Mustang GT and upcoming 6th generation Camaro, It's looking to be a very, very bad year for my checkbook indeed.

Yet, for some reason, I really don't seem to mind.

Yep, SRT Products MSRP is basically loaded with very few options. There are no DR's as a option. The only options is upgraded radio, satin black hood, laguna seats, and moon roof and 8-speed auto.

Hellcat price released

That’s how much you’ll pay per second to drive the most powerful muscle car ever down a quarter-mile drag strip.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will cost $60,990 when it goes on sale this fall with its 707 hp 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 under the hood, the automaker announced today. That compares to $55,935 for the 662 hp Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, $57,650 for the 580 hp Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and $397,500 for the 691 hp Lamborghini Aventador.

With 650 lb-ft of torque, the Challenger SRT Hellcat is the most-powerful American production car ever made, and Dodge says it can do a quarter-mile run in 11.2 seconds at 125 mph on its showroom stock tires, and just 10.8 with a set of street-legal drag radials installed.

The coupe will come standard with an adjustable suspension, and be available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or 8-speed automatic. Dodge President and CEO Tim Kuniskis told Autoblog.com, that it has a top speed of 199 mph.

Decent Msrp, but anyone thinking that they're going to get one of these near Msrp for years to come is dreaming. Of course you'll see claims of buying at Msrp down the road, but keep in mind that this is the internet, where all claims are possible

Oh wow I was expecting around 43-44K. Iv always wanted a challenger just from their true throw back styling. Never could warrant paying so much for so little performance compared to the SS and 5.0... I was really eyeing a 15 Mustang, but with the scat pak at that price I may finally pick up a challenger. Great times to be a car lover!

Very true!...

It is a mute point for me since I will never be able to afford a Hellcat, GT500, or ZL1...

But I love seeing the HP wars!!!...

Hellcat Pricing Leaked: Under $60K! How Much More Good News Can Dodge Release This Year?

Jul 16, 2014Bryan McTaggartBangShift News6

We’re convinced that someone in Chrysler is laying out press releases like they’re laying out a killer poker hand. First we were told that the Challenger Hellcat, Chrysler’s answer to the Shelby GT500 and Camaro ZL1 was coming, and we smiled a little. It was nice to see Mopar finally get into the game and stir up the competition. Then the power figures were released. Our eyebrows raised up and our smiles became Cheshire Cat-like evil grins. Over 700hp out of the supercharged Hemi was like a mail bomb at Ford and GM’s doorstep. But one last mystery (at least that we’re aware of) remained: How much would it cost? Speculation put it north of $70,000, which would set it next to the Camaro Z/28, which while not cheap, would still beat the Camaro’s horsepower number.
Once again, we were wrong. The actual number is $59,500. That places it price-wise just above ZL1 and GT500, and well below the Z/28.

At this point, forget the other muscle cars for a second. The car this competes with power-wise closest is the Lamborghini Aventador. Starting price on the psychotic Italian doorstop? $387,000. Difference in power? THREE FREAKING HORSEPOWER. No kidding. The Lambo sits at 710hp.
We think Dodge has the muscle car thing down for now, or at least until Ford unloads that beast that, until we hear otherwise, is the GT350.R. Who will make the next move?
Interesting that they used the 11.8 for the GT500 showing that the ZL1 is closer to the GT500 than the GT500 to the Hellcat in the 1/4...

In reality that's not the case..
