Your new nice car is primarily made of plastic.

By all means,if you wanna' drive your nice new Camaro in the Winter time in the snow and salt go ahead, thats fine by me,its your car,you paid for it,and you can do what you want with it,just don't preach to the rest of us who like to keep ours nice and clean by not driving them, and storing them in the Winter.
Personally I would never buy a Camaro as my "only" car, that I would be forced to drive in bad weather,I have to have a daily driver/work car/Winter beater as well

No not really, not much plastic underneath....even up top,you the got the fascias, the mirrors, and rocker moldings that are plastic, otherwise its good 'ol fashion steel and metal
If they were "primarily all plastic" they wouldn't weigh 3,800 lbs.! LOL!

Im glad im in a position where i dont have to drive the camaro in the winter. I guess i wont get my "drive my plastic-y car through winter like a real man" badge. How will i sleep at night. And seer who can go on a two page essay on waxes and polishes and the extreme amount if time it takes to make a cars finish proper, i doubt ur out sliding that mostly plastic shelby through the salty slush of the parkway while being endlessly pelted by cinders thrown by every other car and truck on the road

While I can't speak for everyone, the only reason I don't drive mine in rain/snow is because I don't want to clean it afterward. After having Camaros, a Mustang, and a GTO as DD's -- that also won trophies at car shows -- I'm done spending inordinate amounts of time cleaning every crevice.

That's just me, though

cool, well it is a GM, so I am sure the paint is peeling from the factory, so you dont want the bare metal exposed to the salt, so I can understand that.

Now, the above statement is a joke. I don't drive my shelby in the snow/salt either, but it wouldnt be the end of the world if it was.

New cars are overweight because, and their steel content has went down over the years not up:

Plushier interiors
More luxury features becoming standard
IRS
Larger standard wheels/tires
6+ interior airbags
Sound deadening
Larger stereo systems (multi speaker+subs)

All of these are great things, but are what makes cars bloated vs. their previous generations, even with lighter weight bodies.

Nope, I'm not, because I own multiple vehicles. My point just is, it's not the apocalypse if a new gen camaro or mustang is driven in the snow.
