Bought a volt a couple weeks ago. Absolutely love this car. We still have our Camaro, but it rarely gets driven because of the gas prices. We have gone about 1000 miles and used about 5 gallons of gas. The volt is actually really fun to drive too, it was very surprising to me.

What is really sucky for the OP is when one day he is tooling on down the freeway in Sparky, and some dude in a white Camaro SS(that he just bought at some dealership where some dude just traded it in on a Volt) blows past him, and has that ol' familiar "permagrin" on his face........

j/k....I know what you're saying, its a mixed bag of things. Unfortunately, I think the "plan" is to in time eliminate fossil fuel for cars (or make it out of reach price wise) before the "alternative" fuels actually can turn a profit. Dunno...its a mess for sure!
Is that serious about LA owning coal fired generators in AZ? I thought SRP owned them and sold some of the output to CA. We've got a nuclear plant out west of town that makes a lot of ours. No smoke or anything. I'd like to see more of those. I sent a serious letter to APS, my electric utility, last year asking how they expected to provide the power for electric cars if a lot sell when they are constantly telling us to use less in order to avoid shortages and price increases. They sent a vague reply about being sure that there would be new technologies to generate the power by the time it was needed.

Pretty sure they do...LA Dept of Water and Power...I think they're near "four corners"...could technically be other owners...not 100% sure, but its a biggy for the city of LA for sure...

P.S. It cracks me up about SoCal...total whores when it comes to water, oil, electricity, etc...We wanna use it, but don't want any of it to come from our own backyard...lol

That's gotta hurt. Sorry you're stuck with that as your best option. Post pix, with you by your new Volt. I want to see the look on your face.

In 15 years $1,500.00 won't fill your gas tank.

I would buy a Volt as a second car....but, I would still have to have 450 HP or more in something else!!!

I suppose I'm an "ex"-rider now, having sold my last bike, a Ducati 749s. I value life too much to commute on a bike everyday. It's not an option for everyone, especially if you have people (children/family) that depend on you.

It's also faster than an $80,000 Audi. See comment above. Gas mileage <> the price of life.

If you're snorting pot, you're doing it wrong. I resent the fact that liberals get all the attention when it comes to pot. I have many republican ideals but I'm just fine with the little plant that never hurt anyone.

I agree with that one. Quality of life is important! As long as you find a way to keep that passion alive, you gotta do what you feel is best. Hopefully you'll have a Camaro again one day!
