Unless you're getting a real good deal on a Snell 2005 helmet, buy a Snell 2010 because the 2005 will not be allowed after 2015 come out at a lot of events...

Hey this looks like a good time. I have wanted to try autocross forever. If it's pretty affordable I'll make it. I also have a friend with a impreza who might be interested but we are both first timers. lol

The goodyear supercars that were on the ZL1, Nitto NTO5, grip well but dont last, Michelin SUPERSPORTS, costly like the Goodyears but wear well and great all around street tire. All $$$ , nittos the cheapest. Then Nitto Invos, Bfg's etc.for street and track. Depends on your budget. Also if the overall tire diameter is off from the SS your speedo will be off, dont recall what that is on the zl1 so check it out.

WOOT WOOT

As Donnie would say: It's ON like Donkey Kong!!!

I submitted the contract yesterday and I received final approval today!!!

I'll get a new thread started in the Meets section with all of the registration information but here are the basics...

November 16th at the Santa Anita Race Track in Arcadia Gate 6 off of Colorado Pl
They are charging me a little more than I had planned so it will be $72.50 per driver with no gate fee. Spectators will be $10 at the gate and they will also be required to sign the Release Waiver to attend, if they have a helmet they can ride with anyone at the event. The gates will open at 8am for registration and tech inspection. 9 to 10 will be course walks and instruction. Racing starts at 10!

For insurance purposes, the event will be considered an "Instructional Driving Autocross", this is for everyone's benefit! We will be doing instruction and practice in the morning as well as letting anyone that just wants to run, run! There will be Competition runs in the afternoon and we will be giving awards for many different classes, Beginner, Stock, Modified, Super Modified, Beyond Super Modified (Jason), and Fastest lap of the Day! It will all depend on who and how many people sign up.

I am really excited and I look forward to providing you with an Awesome day of Fun driving your car the way it was meant to be driven!

After these guys help you out with some more "instruction" you and your car will be killers....Save stomping on the pedal for the track!...
