My Solution
I ended up attaching a grab strap to the inside of the trunk lid.
1. Use a trim removal tool to remove the plastic anchors holding on the trunk liner, and to remove the plastic cover around the trunk latch. 2. Stick strap through existing hole in the sheet metal and tie it off. 3. Temporarily place the trunk liner in place to see where the strap needs to come through, and cut a small hole in the trunk liner to run the strap through. 4. Reinstall the trunk liner, plastic anchors, and latch cover. Try not to shut the trunk on your fingers. |
