I stand corrected, I misread your OP. My opinion doesn't change though.
Best of luck in your decision, I hope it doesn't bite you square in the ass.

One thing you are overlooking is if you have both vehicles financed, you can't just "sign them over" to each other's name. You'll have to, in essence, SELL them to each other to pay off each title, and retitle it to the other one. This means after the 16 year old brother gets qualified to buy a nearly $40,000 SS, he's going to immediately want to sell it, and get qualified again by some financial institution to cover the V6. And the 19 year old will be selling his V6, and financing whatever amount is owed on the SS. I don't know anything about this 16 year old's credit standing, but that's a lot to get approved in a short time frame.
Otherwise, they just make each other's payments, drive each other's cars, pay each other's insurance, but the cars stay in the original names, and they pray it never causes them any legal complications. |

From what I've gathered the V6 is a more comfortable daily driver and it also handles better due to the lower weight of the engine. I think Jay Leno got it right. A turbo brings the V6 up to SS HP with lighter weight and better gas mileage. Plus it's a better car for auto-crossing because of the weight and handling. I like the looks of the V6 better because they're identical except for the night rider mail slot. Sure, throw rocks at me but the best car for you and you brother is the one I drive everyday, a Honda Element. It will haul your kayak, mountain bikes, guitars and amplifiers or drums. You can muck it up and wipe it clean, the seat fold into a bed so you got a motel on wheels when you catch a girl. The Camaro is a sweet ride but I'm looking at getting one as a SECOND car and a convertible to boot. That's what I'll get too a 2012 V6 'vert. I also read in another thread that in the 45 years the Camaro has been made only 5 different trim levels had more HP than the current V6. I think those advocating that you trade up to the V* are expressing their desire for a bigger penis.

Not worth it for you.
Why pay the extra $$ for insurance and depreciation? Save that extra money and buy your net dream car with cash. You will be a few years older and wiser and insurance will be less. In the mean time enjoy your Camaro. It can be every bit as much fun as an SS.
