I see potential issue....no place to connect the HVAC control cable in the car that connects to the heater/fan/AC controls on the factory radio faceplate or the Scosche and Metra aftermarket install kits. It does not plug in to the back of the radio from the pictures I see.

As to the plug and play functionality, looks like they are using a Metra module for the CAN BUS interface.

May be cool for Android use, but I would question the sonic quality of the unit. Features are cool, but not if the audio performance is crappy.

There is a small connector underneath where the radio sits in the back of the faceplate that connects to a canbus standalone box that connects through the factory harness. there is no metra or scosche in this package. this whole unit looks to be plug and play. I cannot provide any more details on this as it is not in the vehicle yet. at the moment I have an android radio double din with the metra kit. I am unhappy with the way the metra kit looks as to its basic design that does not fit the rest of the interior scheme but the sound quality out of the android radio I am quite happy with. it is no pioneer or alpine quality but is very comparible. as for the maps, you may use different navigation apps because this new radio is still android so app store is still usable for app downloads. lets not make any theories on this radio just yet because so far this radio looks absolutely plug and play into the car. I will keep everyone updated once I start the install. thanks.

Google maps needs the network to work properly
there are great android SW like CoPilot and Sygic that download all the maps to the device and you don't need the network and usually when you buy them you get map updates for life at no extra cost

For Boston Acoustic system one mod must be done. We can’t use the speakers output of the unit. To use preout we have to cut off and discard the speaker connector. Add RCA Male Plug Solder Free to the wires, total 4 plugs, you can buy them on eBay. After that just plug them to line out of the unit and that is all.

Plug RL Green-Black wire is negative(-); Green wire is positive(+)
Plug RR Purple-Black wire is negative(-); Purple wire is positive(+)
Plug FL White-Black wire is negative(-); White wire is positive(+)
Plug FR Gray-Black wire is negative(-); Gray wire is positive(+)

People without Boston Acoustic system are fine.

I forgot about that, but i think if we tether our phone to unit, it should work. After we see how this unit works, i will probably be getting one.
