It's good no doubt, but best and especially easily is really stretching. Looking at ALL FWD sedans there are some excellent choices from the new Accord, to the Fusion, to the new Avalon, to the Acura RLX, etc, etc. The impala is a looker ans should a great seller in it's class, but it still has deficencies, especially in fuel mileage which is a HUGE thing these days.

Meh. RLX hasn't fared too well in most reviews. Not impressed by Accord.
Honda in general is just sinking.

Chevy doesn't have the 4 Cylinder numbers posted yet but the Taurus gets 22/32. If the 4 Cylinder gets the same ball park then it's still pretty good for its size.

What is the MPG rating of the 2014 Impala? 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder?
*Edited* Didn't see G-Oil Guy's post. Posting from my iPhone :p

THis is true, i guess i was thinking of the Avalon and RLX which both would roast the Impala (judging by the platform mate XTS which the RLX has already beaten in a comparison, but that is a different story). I don't know, for whatever reason i just don't think too much about the Taurus and it seems like it has been kind of a lame duck in the sakles department.

Only real review i have seen pitted the RLX against the XTS and the RLX came out on top. the new Accord is just an excellent car. They made huge strides for the 13 model and in mainstream sedans it is now one of the best of the best on the market, which is mostly winning reviews and comparisons have showed.

Overall I really like the new Impala. Its a great looking large sedan...I also love the interior...except for that steering wheel!

Well today was clinch day. And sadly the Impala lost, but only because there were zero incentives on it. Nothing, it was MSRP or no sale. I was gonna get it anyway but she didn't want me to. So- we're getting a Ruby Red '13 Fusion Titanium with everything but a kitchen sink in it, and all that for $26.9K, 13K less than an Impala LTZ. Her company has the X-plan that lists everything sedan wise in Fords lineup, and Chevy too- except the '14 Impala. Go figure...
She's a happy girl so that's all that matters, and no more car shopping for me! Test drove it though, and it was as great if not more so this time than the last. Chevy and their Impala hasn't heard the last from this family.
