Think about this.... That Cobalt SS T/C had as close race with the SRT8 as he did with V6 mustang.
Who here wants to see a stock exterior V6 mustang put a beating on a tuned i/e SRT8? To once and forever show how much of a turd SRT cars were. That's the 300 whp Cobalt SS T/C that pulled the SRT8, struggles to pull on mustang.^ The third race is v6 mustang against full bolt on LT1 with drag radials. GoPro3 humiliation vids of SRT owners to come. Last edited by 08-G35s/6MT; 01-13-2013 at 06:03 PM. |

I would not trade a 392 for an SS.
Find out what YOU are going to use the car for. Last year I bought my Yellow Jacket based off of this simple question I asked myself. I was looking at the 392 and ZL1. But I did not wont all that extra "track" stuff that came standard on the ZL1. Me personally, I could care less about road course, auto-x, etc. I was going to use the car as a street warrior. And I wanted something that everybody and their mother didn't have. |

You said, "were" -- were is past tense. Every vid or statement, you talk crap about an SRT8, is the 6.1L. 392 (6.4L) is a whole different animal. |

So a tuned intake and exhaust srt8 will only trap 107? I think not

I trapped 113.1 with my car 100% bone stock. Others have gone 114. My best pass was 12:40s @ 112.8

Here is my 2 cents. The only way i would give up a 2012 392 for a Camaro would be to get the ZL1. If the op really wants a SS just wait till the 392 is paid off then get the SS.

With a DA of 3600 on a humid 95 degree day ? The Cobalt was heatsoaked when it made this run and the track's prepping is horrid(under-going change of management this season it was so bad; DA corrected 109-110 pre-E85 tune) too.... The Charger traps 108 at this track(DA corrected is ~110-111). He is running a conservative Trifecta tune and running rich AFR's too. When he puts his E85 tune on and leans out the AFR's a bit, he should be right at 330-350 whp. On the factory axles, clutch, and K04 turbo.

I am getting rid of my 2ss vert. I have decided I want a coupe. I test drove a 392 and it really didn't feel that fast, I absolutely love the looks of the car but just didn't do it for me. I'm looking at a Zl1 or a GT500. The dealers here want full MSRP for a ZL1 but I have found a dealer who has an in stock GT500 willing to take thosands off to move it. Decisions decisions.

The ZL1 is amazing but if I had the money it would be the 13' GT500 hands down! I'd take a ZL1 over a 10-12 GT500 though. |

My vert is actually heavier than a ZL with a lot less horsepower and about the same weight as the 392. The 392 just did not pull that hard, maybe it did and because its a big car I did not notice but I was watching the speedo and it just didn't seem as fast as my vert(my vert is a 6sp) I am really struggling with the GT500 vs the ZL1, one thing that really bothers me about the GT500 is the complexity of the engine, don't get me wrong I love it, but god forbid you need to do a head gasket you have to pull the engine. And 4 cams with that chain........
