They look great! Would've been my choice if they weren't back ordered until the end Sept. Would like hear your impressions of the tire after you've spent some time w/ them. Enjoy!

Sure, I don't know why you think I'm trying to argue? This is a forum; people chime in : )

Regarding street tires, we used Hankook RS-3s on both 285/35/20 (my brother's 1LE) and 305/30/19 sizes. They have great street manners (no vibration or excessive noise), and they do warm up fairly quickly. They can also double for track duty, since they don't overheat like PSS tires at the track; highly recommended!

You are failing to understand you are provoking an argumenent that I am not on topic with. As this thread is more about bridging the gap between a track oriented car which many owners are trying to make safer for street use. They still want to have an excellent experience with the vehicle when they switch tires and your continuous talk of weight and lap times is unecessary. If an owner wants to invest in "multi use" tire then I will stand by an RE11 all day for excellent street manners in dry and wet with warmer temps which will still give them a very fun experience in performance driving events. Never have I said anything about using a tire for times. The car is equipped, off the floor, with capable tires. Ill make certain to say anyone trying to be awesome, drive with Trofeos at proper psi and decent temps on the track.

This thread breaks down many ways. If an owner can do 2 sets or more of tires, trying balance performance is not such a specific ordeal. Maybe the goal is to not have multiple sets and someone wants insight and experience with their tire choice. Again, this thread can do that without
"They still want to have an excellent experience with the vehicle when they switch tires". You don't get it do you. No one has the intent to throw this thread off course. My input is based on giving you guys advise on achieving what you are aiming for. Putting tires that have a certain weight like 35lbs on your Z28 will ruin the magic but somehow you don't get that. Even on my car because I have put and experimented with sooooooooooo many tire options in both 19s and 20s. Even a tad bit more weight like 5 lbs can kill the tactical handling of our cars. Look. I have a set of Enkei Raijins 19x9.5" wide 22+ lbs and Pirelli P zeros 275-35-19 @ 26lbs for street. Even my track set of wheels 19X11s with the 32+lb tires are miles apart in light weight feel. My car with the Enkei feel like a Mini cooper S and is very quick in lane change even more so than the track setup. The car is wayyyyy more fun with the Enkeis but on a high speed turn on the track the car is way more stable with the 305 setup. This showed even me how important saving weight in the wheel department plays a major role in this cars handling and fun factor. Honestly even you Z28 guys on the street can run a setup like my Enkei setup and have tons of fun on the street. Z28 wheels 26 lbs + 28lbs is around 54lbs minus tpsm. My Enkei weight is at 47 lbs each wheel now with a bit of thread worn. That's a whopping 7 lbs per corner go figure.

I would return the Bridgestones then and get the Kuhmos V720 for $263.35 each vs $346.70 just a thought.

Thanks. The tires have already been special ordered by DT and are at the store ready to be installed.

Just for the heck of it I cross checked the performance reviews for each tire on Tire Rack. The Kuhmos did well, but the RE-11s performed better overall. The Kuhmo's laid down slightly faster times in the slalom and lap tests, but the RE-11s were better in just about every other test, especially ride and noise comfort and stopping distance (wet and dry). Still a great tire especially at that price.

RE11... Is a great option!

Assumption based argument still going on here. Sounds as if you think everyone in here is new to tires and physics. Enjoy the long posts over nothing.

Good day

Not on my Z/28 but on my ZL1. They are pretty good on track and seems to hold up well. I had tire rack heat cycle them and they were overall good. They are somewhat noisy over 100mph as they ROAR.

What tires are you using

i ran these on my V. they're good tires and would communicate with you on the track based on sound. you'll know when you've hit their limit during a turn. i would use these on my Z. they can be a little noisy though.

i actually have a new set as a leftover if anyone is interested? they're 295/30/19.

Interesting article about tires...http://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/...formance-part/

I don't know enough to refute or agree with him. Just found it interesting, especially the part about tire patch and that wider isn't always better.

RE11 325's are at the top of my list at the moment. I do a lot of track days, but I find it fun sliding around.. Its no fun passing 6 people per lap anyway, I could hardly get any clean laps in..

they are very strong tires and support this heavy car well.
