Anyone notice the CT6 introduction mentioned AWD with the 400 HP 3.0 TT?

Still not sure what this means, scaled in which direction heavier, lighter, bigger...what?

To me, it sort of says, hey, we have a much lighter chassis, we can put 20" rims on without any problem.

bigger brakes too?

or everything is lighter, wheels and brakes too?
Smaller and lighter for sure.

Question ZL1 ish wheels for the 6th gen

I find it odd how people are complaining about the wheels on the 6th, but loved the 5th Gen ZL1's

I doubt we will see 19" rims....A smaller diameter will mean less mpg....They will stay 20's for mileage if nothing else...

...I think I'm right....a smaller diameter tire will need more turns to go the same distance as a larger one....

I know when I put on my 19" track wheels and tires, the odometer is off by about 10%...

If you downsize the wheels, you should "upsize" the tires.

If that's the case, then yeah...If you keep the same diameter as a 20" rim and tire you are putting on a taller tire on a 19" rim, and not gaining that much in weight savings...

In addition to the extra weight of AWD, I don't want all of the development costs rolled into the price of a Camaro that we all would pay even though I suspect only a small percentage of buyers would want. Of course, I'm lucky that I live in Texas and would not see much benefit of AWD in everyday driving.

That doesn't mean they will get less mileage, it means they will need to change the gear ratios to match the different wheels.

I'm no brake expert but I would imagine a larger rotor would stay cooler longer than a smaller one, as well as cool better?

I do know that the ATS brembo calipers have 42mm pistons. These calipers appear to use the same size pads as the base (non-Z51) 2014 Corvette Stingray. p/n 23145627 is the pad listed for use in the ATS, CTS, XTS, and Vette.

Not sure how that compares to the current 5th gen brakes caliper/pad wise.

Yeah a little fun off topic never hurts to much.
...
Good news also if you are getting a 6th gen, no weird weights on the brakes.

I don't want to deny anyone ugly black wheels, so don't try to deny me the options of 5-star wheels or AWD. We all should be offered popular options from GM that people are willing to pay for.
Why mess up a successful design like the Camaro with AWD? Everyone has been whining about How heavy the 5th gen was and still GM sold thousands of thousands. Theres no benefit fora 3900lbs AWD Camaro over a RWD 3700 lbs Camaro with 460hp for Both. Since when the 4 bangers are catching. The Golf R is 3500lbs. Explain to me How better it is with much less HP?

An AWD car by GM wont be a Camaro. Thats it. Youd be the only one buying it. What do you drive?
