Who Would Buy A...

Would you buy a GSR ($39,000. estimate) version of the Camaro. Basically a Z28 ($49,000. estimate) without a supercharger (a slight bump in HP over the SS). Some what like the difference between a Z06 and a GS Corvette.

at 49 grand I can probably buy a vette. the 39 grand one is probably just going to have a few different body parts. I can install a SC and get the same horse power for about 7 grand. Not worth IMO

2ssrs don't hold your breath on that deal.

as for a Z28 it's a Z28 not a basic SS which has been slapped on everything in GM's line up. why settle for something you don't want? lol.

GM did very well with the SS on power and everything. I think they will make a good choice. I mean they have to, the camaro is probably holding the company up right now. I still think th 49 tag plus tax title and license is going to make it a lot queen

Are we talking a horsepower bump and suspension work?

This. I'd rather get an SS and add whatever I could to it to match the Z28 if that's the price.

For $49 large it better have more than a bump. Either DI V8 close to 500 hrorse or LSA.

I'm not going to lie I would be very interested in a bump and some suspension work.... throw in some lighter wheels to drop more weight and I'm sold.

Coil-overs = Weight reduction
Lighter wheels = Weight reduction
Free flowing CAI and exhaust = Weight reduction and slight HP bump (if done right)

Sounds like the beginning of a good track car. JMHO

Sounds almost Z28ish.....

Yes I know I'm in the minority on this one.

Weight reduction thread....

If you're describing Z28 as something like the GSR the OP posted, for $39K, that sounds pretty good. I still don't know it this package would be enough to buy, but it does sound like a great package

I'm sure what Im looking for is not what the Z28 is going to be, but I can hope!

I do however understand the business side of needing something to target the Gt500..... So it would make since for the Z28 to be a LSA monster... unless there is more than one extra model on the way. In that case I have no idea what the freck is going on.

Why not keep the SS, add the LSA as an option with some small apperance changes, you get something to rival the GT500 and keep cost low
