I do not understand the point of having a non street legal convertible race car. The added weight doesn't make sense, nor does the aerodynamics.

It's just a marketing ploy for GM to say, "hey! Look at what we built! The ONLY convertible drag in the world! Come check it out!"

I think a better marketing ploy would be a COPO with a vin so I could buy one and drive it.

A special edition of a special edition. What we need is a COPO in convertible form, with Synergy Green Paint, Pace Car stripes done in Anniversary paint, Transformers badged, Dusk, mounted on ZL1LE suspension designed by Niemen Marcus, 2SS1L(S)T Special Edition. If I could only get that with an RS option...

You think? They wouldn't need to market that! They just need to PRODUCE that! For $90000 it SHOULD'VE been a street driven racer.

Yes, as one of two, they will be too expensive, rare and valuable to drive and race
25 years from now, those two COPO rag tops will be worth millions.
Jay Leno has the right investment idea.

Muscle cars should be hardtops. Sports cars should be convertibles.
