Insurance Quotes

I used a vin # from a previous thread and my quote came back yesterday at 485.00 for 6months..... I thought that was pretty good!

State Farm for me was $69 a month... Full coverage. May drop everything except Comprehensive in winter and see how it goes. Don't know if they will do that, but worth the try. I do know my motorcycle rates for a $32k Harley is $29 a month, but knowingly garaged in winter.

That is why if you cancel a policy in winter, you get a $5 back a month credit (Nov-March) versus $60 in summer

How old are y'all? Just curious.

Turning 26 in July and I'm pretty sure my rates will be a tad more than yours

Hey Camaro Skooter, I live in Eagle Pass, and I'll turn 26 in April. Let me know what kind of Insurance Quote you get cause Texas sucks on how expensive insurance is. I pay like 110.00 a month now on a truck.

I'm 27 (almost 28) and USAA quoted me an increase of $210 per 6 months if I tack a new V6 Camaro onto my current policy.

My insurance saleslady is running the numbers right now, supposedly. I gave her a VIN number I found in UCF_w00t's thread that's going to Boerne over a week ago and I still haven't heard back. She may have forgotten, so I'll probably have to call back on Friday.

I'll let y'all know what I hear.

I am 34 and plan on storing mine in the winter but never mention it to my agent yet.

Yeah, I was shocked too when I got my quote from USAA, they were pretty high which was unusual. I didn't give them a VIN# but they wanted around $700ish for 6 months. I was inquiring about the V-8 and I live in a heavily populated area so that may be why it was high. BTW, you are required to have full coverage on a car if you have a loan on it...the lender requires it. You can't cancel insurance if it's garaged when there is a lien on it. You can tell them you are driving it less which translates to lower rates. I'm 42, no accidents, but I've had 2 speeding tickets over the last 10 years.

FYI, be careful when you shop around for ACTUAL insurance quotes because they will run a credit check on you to get an actual rate. So don't let too many companies hit your credit as it will lower your credit score. This same rationale applies when shop for car financing...don't let more than 3 lenders hit your credit. Just a word to the wise.

Lot of threads on insurance in the Order & Pricing forum.

Yea 27 still consdered risky. Not till like mid 30's will it really go down if clean record and one or less claims.

That is great advice about the credit check. Only let them do that if your 100% sure your gonna sign the policy. Then you'll get a FICO bump. If you don't sign up it's a hit.

Received my quote.

My insurance is through State Farm and this is what they quoted me:

6 month premium = $559.73 (which works out to $93.29 per month)

This is actually lower than what I was expecting, so I'm pretty happy.

Just curious, is this a daily driver or recreational vehicle price. Mine will be the third car on my insurance plan and I am using State Farm. Just trying to compare. I am 34.
