How many Indy Pace car w/manual transmission built?

How many 2010 Indy 500 pace cars were built with a manual transmission? I have heard very few but I have been hearing different numbers.

Here is the info on the pace car

Each of the Pace Car models will be based on an SS with the RS appearance package. A 400 horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine will be mated up with a six-speed automatic transmission (what, no manual?), with power put to the ground through 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. A throwback-style front grille recalls the old '67 Pace Cars, and the whole shebang will be painted in Inferno Orange, including the engine cover.

Now, for the most important bits:

Premium floor mats with accent colors
2010 Indianapolis 500 event logo decal on both doors and embroidered on driver and passenger headrests
2010 Indianapolis 500 event logo badges on front fenders
Price? $41,950 (including an $850 Destination Freight Charge).

I know that there are manuals here in Canada, the dealership I am talking to has one. I am just trying to figure out how rare it is. I know I read none of the american cars have manuals and 45 cars were available to Canada. Just trying to figure out how many of the 45 are manuals.

The number I heard was 4 and all in Canada... It's definitely a single digit number making it a rare find...

Yes there were 45 Pace cars built for the Canadian market.Yes some of the Canadian cars had a six speed manual with a man pedal and 426 horsepower. There were more than 4 built.A little over half of the Canadian cars are Manual transmission. Not as rare as you might have thought but none the less still rare. Some are actually still for sale at dealerships and by now may have some factory incentives on them.I have the lists of the Canadian cars built and regions they went to but have not had time to decode them but I can guarantee a little over half are definetly manuals. When I get time I will dig them out and get an accurate figure.

Thank you Irishtoolman, that is what I was looking for. Not as rare as I thought so I will probably just get a regular 2ss. It will be awesome though if you can figure out exactly how many and in which regions. Interesting stuff.

Good Deal... I knew there were some... ..With such a limited production of 294 cars you'd think GM would have numbered each one and published the Auto/Manual numbers somewhere...

I was not there, but a gentleman from Canada brought his down for Carlisle. I think I recall hearing from someone who was there that he said he knew of at least 6 or 7 of them for sale at various dealers as he was looking for his. Four out of 45 seems a little low!

Dam, 1,350 Canadian for shipping and $100 tax for AC. The Canadian and US $ are withing three cents of each other, the northerners are getting robbed.

I saw this on the GT1 Corvettes too. If you can figure out a way to get a GMVIS report on each pace car produced, you'd be able to prove there were only 4 produced and sent to Canada. If only 45 went to Canada...that's a more "doable" number as far as a GM dealer being willing to help out. I only had 10 yellow convertible GT1 vettes to run...so documenting was easy. I've got documentation that our 1-of-10 cars is actually a 1-of-1 car. Believe me...that documentation WILL stay with the car. Barrett Jackson...I hope you make me rich one day!

GM doesn't make specific option content such as radio, transmission, etc. available to the public. The only option is an insider (hard to provide as documentation for future value as to its ambiguity still, or a GMVIS (which pulls the option codes on an official GM document-very reliable as far as documentation goes).

Good luck on the purchase and documetation process. If it is truly that rare...you've found a good one!
