Is there any disadvantage to changing your roster every week? If there isn't any, is there a point to having a "bench"?

Also, wow what a finish last week!

No disadvantage to changing every week. The bench is there so you can change to the bench drivers I think up until Saturday.

I think you can still sign up. You would be at at slight disadvantage with missing any points from first week.

You only get 9 races per driver.

Right, but I was wondering what the point of the 'bench' was if you can just switch your roster out at will

This is my first time with fantasy nascar, I guess I'm used to the fantasy football model

Bench also scores points for qualifying. Daytona 500 gives no qualifying points due to complexity. Normal qualifying scores points for 1-4 places. you get the qualifying points regardless of active or bench drivers.

Not too late to get in at all. You can join any time and I have lucky dog enabled so your worst race gets dropped anyhow.

You really need to change up drivers through the season. Every week is ok. You can only run any given driver 9 times throughout the year so you want to change it up and run them where you think they will do best. Some people rock at the beginning of the year running the obvious picks until they are used up but then fall way back at the end of the year when they only have Carl Edwards and Danica left in the roster.

Last tip you can usually change drivers up to about an hour prior to race time.
