I have a 14 1LE with NPP and I've added the on/off/stock switch to control the sound. I'm thinking about a getting tri-y LTs but need to know if it gets too loud. Unlike most people I don't wan it to get too loud.
I don't have any video/sound clips. I will say this LT'S Tri Y or not with NPP it gets loud. Sounds great but too loud for a 40 y/o lol. I solved it by adding a Dynomax resonated X pipe and it sounds great. Initially I was a touch dissapointed about the amount of sound reduction. The X has broken in being it's essentially a turbo mufler. It sounds excellent right now.

I figure that once I do heads, cam and intake it will get a little louder and sound even better.

Cool. I might go that route too. With the NPPs closed it shouldn't be too bad I suppose. But really only times I close it is if I'm coming home late or when I'm late to an appointment and I'm hauling ass and wanna be stealth... The beauty of the NPP with the switch is you can control it.

I have one of those setups to put in myself. It's good to hear that you like it.

Ordering Hotchkiss springs and upper mounts from JDP on Friday. I'm finally going to add all my suspension parts.

I'm researching heads right now. I'm thinking TFS GenX 255 or MAST Black Lables.

Can't go wrong with either one. Builder went with Mast Black Labels here with Upgraded Springs Valves and Retainers.

TEA will set up a set of Trick Flows basically blueprint them and mill to my specs also make sure I get the right springs and retainers for about $3K. Only 4 or 5 hundred more than getting them straight out of the box from Summit.

The Mast are about $600 more.

I'm guessing the power gains are very similar.

I need to find some rock solid numbers on both...

You may have this base covered already, but for Trick Flows, you need to upgrade to hollow stem intake valves to avoid risk of valve float!

I was talking to TEA and he said they prefer Solid SS valves back cut with Ti retainers. Claims they get brought down to a similar weight to stock LS3 w/o the dangers of the tips falling off... IDK what do you guys think?

I'm no expert, but it's all about weight and reliability. If they made them as light as a hollow stem valve, I would think that they will be ok.

TBH I would be worried about valve weight w/o the TEA work....
