Having a Dusk Edition the color scheme and body panels/blue lighting really make it come together. The only "expensive" and "unique" part about the car is the Rims. While they're also now on the Green Flash, still unique to the car (stock vs stock). Though the tires on those are DAMN expensive, and plan on getting some light replica ZL1 Black 10-spoke rims with 20" tires ($2k for the 21 tires vs $1.5k for a full set).

I would say it's value would be slightly above a normal 2SS with similar options, but not a large amount.

Car probably isn't truly worth more than what it is listed at. SS's aren't going to be big on value even if they were a special edition. Saw a Hot Wheels Edition that had a few thousand miles for $38k, to me that was over priced for what it is.

Well, it's been a year since I've seriously looked in the market of a Dusk. Retail pricing is currently wild all over the map. From an untitled NEW V6 @ 23k to a low mileage V8 Stick @ 30k and a V8 Vert @ 30k. Half of the dealers were priced spot on correctly while 25% were under water and didn't give a shizznets (they needed to move the car) and the remaining 25% would be adjusting their pricing up this week. "Market" for a Dusk is treated the exact same as a Hot Wheels by re-sellers. Of interesting note, in some wild fate of irony, most dealers are pricing the 2013 Hot Wheels as their 2SS/2LT counterpart because they can't sell them and the Dusk is actually getting sold at Hot Wheels pricing because they are almost twice as rare and Dusk owners aren't trading them in (wtf??).
A dealer in CA almost started crying when he found out he sold for $6k under market. Had two site managers (Carmax/Autonation) reaffirm that their corporate office runs "auto VIN identifiers" and absolutely refuse to let managers have the ability to localize market adjustments, they lose thousands on cars frequently. They've tried to change it, but at the end of the day, corporate stock holders and executives care about profits, not widgets and certainly not the public they are screwing over. Warning; these were only advertised pricing and dealers may or may no longer have the vehicle and or may or may not have adjusted pricing since. The biggest shock to me was the fact that a convertible has no price adjustment or book value in the used market, purely an up sell gimmick used for "justifying" a higher sales price. |
