LPE ZR1 Clutch Kit - Impressive!

After having an ACT twin disk for a while, the slow start shuddering never subsided, so I changed to an LPE ZR1 clutch kit and I've got to tell you it is absolutely fantastic.

The GM clutch is smooth as butter, no more shuddering and jolting on take off or when down shifting.

Lingenfelter deserves a great deal of credit for coming up with the idea to adapt the ZR1 twin disk clutch for use in the new Camaro's.

If you're considering a twin disk clutch, take it from a guy that made the expensive mistake of buying an after market product before switching to the LPE ZR1 clutch kit.

Did you guys have to change flywheels also...I have the ACT twin as well, and it shudders a little bit... Additionally, what ft/Lbs is it rated for...???

I requires a different (aftermarket) flywheel and a custom spacer for the slave cylinder.

Lingenfelter has the entire kit on their site. It includes their custom aluminum flywheel, slave cylinder adapter, slave cylinder/throwout bearing, and the clutch.

It's expensive, but believe me you do not want to buy a cheaper twin disk like the ACT....crapola!

There are a few of us on the LPE thread that have had this dual disk clutch for a year now.. it still works perfectly!

When I need another clutch, it will be this one again. it has been problem free.

You can do the original LPE ZR1 clutch or the new one recently released that is rated at 960+ ft/lbs. That's the one I'll be getting soon.

By the way, I currently have the Fidanza twin disc. Holds the power okay, but chatters, shudders and makes all kinds of strange noises when you start off. I wouldn't have another Fidanza if it was given to me.

Frank, do you know what the torque rating is for the original LPE ZR1 clutch?
