Financing

What rates are you getting?

I saw Capitol One at 2.67 for 36 and 2.7 for 60 a week ago and now their showing 3.5 on 36 and 3.88 for 60; WTF?

BofA is showing 3.35 for 60.

Most banks rates change on the 1st depending on the federal rates (which also change on the 1st). Also some banks run "specials" that end on the last day of the month and on the 1st it goes back to their normal rates. What you are seeing is mostly one of these.

I am willing to bet, some people don't want to give you such a financially intimate detail. Your rate is soley based on your credit.

Your rate would be a indication of your bill paying habits, and debt to income ratio, and how close my current open credit levels are to their max.

These are things that aren't nessarily something that people typically want to spread around. Some don't mind, some do.

It is kinda like starting a thread saying How much money did you make last year. You may be suprised just who makes what, but most people don't want to plaster that detail to a bunch of strangers on the internet.

I was excited about a tax refund amount I was getting. I shared. I stated what I paid in, and how much of that I was getting back. So did many others, but then people started saying stuff like:

You are dumb to over pay.
that's all you are getting back.
You must be in such and such bracket.
You have people guessing your incomes.

It just becomes weird to have complete strangers so interested in your money.

I guess I should have asked "What kind of rates are you finding?"

Got back onto Capitol One today and their back at 2.7 for 36 and 3.07 for 60.

no worries, man, I don't take offense to the question, I was just trying to provide some insight on why you may not be getting responses on this topic.

I got 3.4% for 72months at my local Credit Union. They all vary. The interest is good enough for what I need it for. $15k and will be paid off in 1 year.
