Drone free axle back

Running a cam, headers and no cats and think I have burned up one of my oem mufflers...getting a rattle sound from one of them..like I have burned up the baffles inside..that can happen right? So now looking for an axle back...which axle back is drone free...I see where corsa doesn't offer a axle back...any suggestions..

Solo Axle Backs with J-Pipes. Sounds great and as close to drone free as you can get.

The stock mufflers are pretty much a straight through design. There is a cut away picture around the forums somewhere. It is essentially a pipe with holes poked in it and sound deadening material all around. There are not chambers or baffles really so I am not sure what would be rattling.

Solo's are what I'm getting as soon as the mountains of snow disappear ($500).

You know I was thinking the same thing...went to the exhaust shop, lifted it up to see if any thing was loose and was very tight everywhere...just got a rattle like sound coming from the driver side can...something's vibrating somewhere around that muffler..

my drone free system is jba headers and hfc's..with ls3 pipes my friend gave me to replace the l-99 pipes with resonators, and end with borla s-type axle backs.

You could always build your own CENTER EXIT / AXLE BACK system like I did for my2010 2SS/RS L99.Also with no drone! Just not quite finished yet. For more information, PM me, I will be glad to help. Also your neighbor won't have this on their Camaro!

What is rattling is the plate that separates the stock muffler into two chambers. When mine started to rattle I drilled a small hole next to the plate and could stop the rattle by pressing on the plate with a screwdriver. But I could not figure out a way to permanently fix it so I went with the Solo w/j-pipes cat back system.

Solo axle backs with headers and no cats will be ridiculously loud. If you go with Solo... which I would recommend... get the cat back. Super sweet sounding system. No drone.

Where do you drill the hole to get to the plate? Figure I might try something before ditching it...my first mod was the solo Mach x cat back(ls3)..love the sound, but it did have some drone...when I did the cam and headers I put the oem exhaust back on for I felt the loudness and drone would be way to much..thinking the solo axle back with j-pipes would be ok...
