Built my own corner sub boxes
I've had these built for a while, finally got around to covering them with carpet. I forget exactly but calculated around 0.8cu.ft. per box, filled with cotton to help fake some extra space.
Front face, finally pulled them out and carpeted: Back side 1. Didn't bother carpeting the backs, any extra room back there is for the better!: Back side 2, with terminal cup: Getting one side back in: Both sides covered and both amps. Wires and Audiocontrol EQX in the pile: Cleaned up a bit: -2 Old School Kicker Impulse 10" subs (had these FOREVER but still work great) -Rockford 500.2 amp for subs (right side) -Alpine 4 MRV-F340 powering Alpine SPS 600-C speakers (left side) -MTX RE-Q5 (can't see in the pics, mounted to the top of the trunk) -Audiocontrol EQX, crossing at 70hz low to the subs and high to the fronts. Finally have everything all tuned in and I'm pretty happy with the sound. Tweeters are a bit harsh still, probably will replace them eventually but overall sounds pretty great.

Thanks, that was my main concern. I had a just center-trunk box I had built for my old car and it took up too much of the trunk.
This way I have my whole center (Its actually a damn big trunk, just super tiny opening haha). I didn't want to mount my amps to the back of the seat 1)because I didn't want to drill holes where you could see them and 2)so I could put my seats down and put long stuff in without worrying about doing any damage to the amps or changing settings or whatever.

looks great man, I was going to do that exact thing, but was very worried about things in the trunk sliding around and poking a hole in a sub. So, I did this and added my PS3 and Xbox:

Oh yeah, I saw your thread a while back...very cool!
Thats why I have the speaker grills, I'd never just put open subs in the trunk without something to try and protect them. I was always worried, had a buddy who used to just throw all sorts of crap all in his trunk in highschool and ended up with a damaged sub. With the amount they move, it wouldn't take much to punch a hole or damage the surround.

Some good Old school KICKERS. WOW. That was back in the day when they still made good speakers. I used to have many of the competition and solo-baric subs. Always used the old school Rockford punch series amps. Back then is when amps actually made power. Nice setup ya got.

@OP:
Wow, those look pretty slick. Did you by chance build them to specs, or just kinda eye balled it ???? The reason I ask is because I'm thinking of building some of my own, and I was wondering if you had dimensions you used, or a specific volume you wanted to give the subs ???? |
