depends on if they do a visual or if you have a "friend"...here in Md. they do/can perform a visual so I went with CARB shorties w/HF cats...btw the cats are the biggest restriction and make the biggest diff in performance/sound...period. coupled with a awesome tune from dynoSteve at RDP the car has ZERO cels, massive performance gains, 20+ mpg hwy(who the f care around town...really) and I can pass any emissions tests...
any mod you do really needs to be combined with the right tune otherwise IMHO your wastin your time/money...good luck OP and at least yer askin the Q's first rather than bitchin after the fact like many do....lulz...

There are some posts in this thread about recent changes to MA inspection, starting at #5. I chimed in at #30:

I spoke with the owner of slowhawk performance and he said I will be fine with longs tubes and cats. He said he will intsalll the headers and cat and Dyno tune the engine/tranny for 2100 which I am pumped about. I'm hoping with those mods plus cai and tb I will be at around 360-370 rwhp and maybe a little more TQ. I cant wait to feel the difference since my 08g35xs only makes 242 and 231 tq to the wheels and the g is about 200 pounds heavier. I can't wait to finally feel TQ, it's one of the reasons I'm going with the Camaro over the 5.0 coyote. My buddy has both and say even though the 5.0 is a hair faster the Camaro feels faster and throws you back in your seat much harder.
