I only use 5th or 6th when I'm cruising on the HWY with open road.

However I would if i had a 1LE because the transmission plus the gears make it similar to a regular m6 SS.

6th gear seems to keep me out of trouble so I've been using it.

Get it in as high a gear as I can when just cursing. Did not by the car to get great mileage either, but did not buy it to just try and be cool and say how low a gear I run. Play time, it's a whole different story. I am not saying to lug the engine, but regular driving, get it in a high gear.

I didn't buy mine for the gas mileage, however I spend 70% of the time driving on the interstate, so 55 and above I'm in 6th and I'm still averaging 16 combined! I imagine if I never used 6th I'd be getting 10. I'd accept 10 if I had 800rwhp, but I don't.
