Taz Car, Taz Car

The new Taz car has made it home after a 5 month and 5 day wait.

Backstory: The original Taz car was a 1999 Vette in pewter, but it was sold back in '05. I was hoping for the Trans Am to make a comeback seeing the Camaro was reborn, but when they axed Pontiac that dream died. I'm glad the Camaro has the old muscle car look with the latest technology and ride quality. To me this the is best of both worlds.

This 2010 Camaro SS is our 25 wedding ann. gift to ourselves. Originally we wanted a blue car with white stripes, but after seeing the white ones starting to roll off the line, we changed our minds. I think the white really show off the lines of the car, (all those beefy muscles) as well as being classic, classy and timeless.

We got the orange interior to give the car some pop and wow. The inferno stripes were ordered to hold us over until we can afford an aftermarket hood (the Nickey Chicago Stinger). The only other option on this car is the RS package and we kept the midnight wheels, which I really like with the white. And we had the dealer (Classic in Grapevine Texas, hey EricSS) install ceramic window tint before pickup.

For the gear-heads out there, yes it is a stick. The SLP skip shift eliminator adaptor is in the house and waiting to be installed.

In the long run, getting the Camaro instead of going to Italy to celebrate our anniversary was the better bang for our buck. Although it would have been cool riding Ducatis around the Italian countyside, that would only have left us with fading memories. With the Camaro we can go for a drive any day well into the future and we have all the fun adding mods to really make it ours.

Happy Silver Anniversary to us and a Happy Holidays to everyone here at the Camaro 5 forum!

Someday, you'll get your trip to Italy. The Camaro is something you'll enjoy much longer.

Thanks guys!

Got to take the car out over the weekend to put on some break-in miles on it. Took the back roads up to Lake Ray Roberts and brought the camera with hoping for nice scenery shots. Didn't see what I was looking for, but took a couple of quick pics anyway. Had to tweaked the backgrounds in Photoshop since the bland winter landscape does nothing for the car.

Went out looking for a field of Indian Paintbrush wildflowers to take a nice shot with, but no luck. It's times like this we can't get back to the Texas Hill Country fast enough.

We did find this Charger outside the donut shop in Decatur.

Some pics from yesterday when we joined the DFW - Camaro Group and went to the Texas Motor Speedway to take a spin around the track.

Thanks all who drop by for a look see and especially those who take the time to leave a nice word.

Hey got to practice my manual driving skills over the past week and took the camera with. I also got around to getting the first wax job to it with the Adam products. Man, I need some shades to tone down the extreme shine off the white.

Of course, I had to play in Photoshop for a few. Not happy with the last shot, seems I still need to learn where the nose is , so I'm going to have go back for a redo.
