Cargo Ship defends itself

Well, looks like they are protecting themselves a little more forcefully these days.

"As a Deck officer than often sails through GOA and Indian Ocean all I can say is GOOD RIDDANCE. It is about time someone takes appropriative action against plague of piracy. It makes me sick when I read Piracy Prevention guidance notes and orders and see "use fire hoses", "put some dummies on the poop deck" "armed guards are not recommended". They say, don't bring a knife to a gun fight, yet they ask us to go in with ****ing fire hoses. They ignore the fact that the armed guards are the most effective piracy prevention method and there had not been a single case of a vessel with armed guards that has been captured or had any causalities. I will never order my seamen to stand there with fire hoses in hail of gunfire. I have no compassion for that scum, I have done nothing to this people yet they shoot RPGs at me and my vessel. And lets remember that piracy is not limited to Somalia, Nigeria is a growing problem as well, with much more violent captors."

LOL, I think that comment was a Reddit comment, not in the YouTube comments I linked to. Wait...how did I know that?

I think my favorite comment was:
"The first few rounds were off-target, and gave the pirates a chance to change direction...which they did not. Due to the lack of immediate direction change, fire was re-directed onto target. Warning shots are not code for "let's talk", they're code for "you have merely seconds to convince me to let you live"."

Get some! Always wondered at these pirates' level of intelligence, attacking a giant @$$ cargo ship in a lil speed boat...

Assad: Nafid, we shall be rich! Let's go attack that ship there.
Nafid: So, let me get this straight. We motor towards the ship in broad daylight, scale the sides of the ship using a grappling hook, run along an empty deck, all while not under fire from that big tower.
Assad: But we'll be rich!
Nafid: OK, sounds good!
