My L99 Case is Closed.

Got the call from GM and my case is closed. The car thinking it was running on 87 Octane is all they found wrong and they just reset that. They said that is it and all is well.

End of my story.

Well sounds like there are many on this board who have the same problem. We could sure use your help to let everyone else with sluggish problems know the potential problem and solution.

Moves pretty good, 2010 GT tried to get away from me at a stop light the other day. I was right behind him and the light changed. He jumped and smoked his but I caught him right on his bumper. I backed off at the speed limit of 50.

Video I made last weekend showed 0-60 in 5.0 second. So looks like it is working Chris.

I hope GM is on this with a TSB soon, so the rest that have issues can get this taken care of.

What can the "normal" person do to reset the timing curves? Does everyone need GM to come to there homes to reset the curves?

So what if Scott puts 87 back in his car accidentally...Is he hosed again... This is not good news!!! especially since they didn't change out a defective ECM.

I have no clue what my dealer put in on delivery but I have run 93 ever since...

This would affect LS3s also

What happens if you accidentally put in 87 or even 89 ocatane again? I'm sure you don't want to test that but while the GM guys had your case open that should have been one of the tests. That way they can determine if it was a fluke bug or if anytime someone puts in a low octane it's not re-learning properly (a flagrent - needs to be fixed bug).

The LS3 tune is completely different than the L99. Remember the L99 has Variable Valve Timing and Cylinder Deactivation...

That will require completely differents tunes/programs. From what I've been able to learn from some of our insiders. This issue is only found in the L99 tune.

FWIW

Welcome back BTW!

It is interesting to know if GM is going to make any changes to the ECU programming down the road or not.. If they are closing the case, what exactly does that mean for those still affected and what does it mean for Scott if he puts in a lower octane gas..

Did they say if or when they might have a fix for the rest of us?
