Haven’t posted in forever and need help
Sorry it’s been years since I’ve posted and I can’t find anything via the search tool.
Anyways, I have a 2011 SS/RS One of the HID Bulbs went out, not the Halo itself but the bulb that is primarily used for night driving. For the life of me I can NOT find an OEM replacement and every auto part store tells me they have lights for the non RS that give off the yellow hue. I found some lights here and there that give off a dark blue light, but I don’t want that. I just want OEM so it matches with the other bulb. Does anyone know where to find these ? |

I put these in -
https://www.amazon.com/CAR-ROVER-D1S...omotive&sr=1-3 They have a 10000K bulb that is bluer, the 8000K is a more white light. Less than 25 bucks for 2 of them - such a deal. |

Been very happy with my diode dynamic drls. I wouldn’t worry about being oem. Likely the life of the other bulb doesn’t have a ton of time left so might as well swap the pair.

What you need is a D1S class bulb (or set of 2 preferably). OSRAM is the original manufacturer and is considered the best. I believe that 4300k is the stock color.
OSRAM D1S

And thank YOU for the standard “k” @4300. I had wondered what the stock rating was and hadn’t found that yet. These that I got were 8000, I’m really wondering about trying a 6000 just because? These 8000k units are bright but really I wonder if the lower number would be a whiter light and actually illuminate better? I’ve threatened to fab some mounts and stick a set of Hella 500’s with 100 watt halogens in them on the front bumper. I like those lights, they’ll light up a mile of highway! |

I was actually thinking of going with 6ks next time too. I want something as pure white as possible. My LED DRLs are a very clean bright white and I want them to match those as close as possible.

I run the diode dynamics 6000. They are a perfect match with the P13W in the DRL. Pretty bright with a long throw at night.

Phillips makes a D1S C1 bulb and Amazon Rock Auto and Ebay have them listed.

I did this job on my 2014; it uses a D3S instead of the D1S for a 2011, but other than that, it’s should be the same. I used OSRAM bulbs that I bought on eBay.
Here was a really helpful video on the replacement procedure: https://youtu.be/2CybG7ar0Sc There’s a few videos out there about taking the bumper off or other crazy stuff; not necessary, you can access them from the back / under the hood. It’s a little tight quarters, but do-able. |
