Can Chevy give me my stage code w/o the dealer knowing?

I'm at stage 3300 as of 4/30. When I call Chevy's toll free customer service line, they tell me they have to call the dealer. Well I did that once and the dealer called me like a minute later, and he was really pissed. Is there a way I can check my event stage without the dealer knowing?

Who cares if the dealer is pissed, he should be the one inundating you with info about your car. Threaten to cancel your order and I'm sure they'll start updating you.

Everytime I ask the 1-800 number if they can look up my event code/status, they tell me NO, only my dealer can do that; they can't even contact the dealer to get it for me.

I have called the 1-800 number twice. First I got some guy that put me on hold and called production and he came back and gave me the status. Another time I got some girl that didnt want to help and just said they will be in show rooms in June. I then went on to tell her last time I called the person I talked to called their production department and got me a anwser. She then put me on hold and came back with a status saying she called them. lol.

I don't think that threatening to cancel your order will do much. I hate to be devil's advocate, but they could just turn around and say "Okay" and sell the car for over MSRP.

My dealer is doing me a favor though. I'd love to tell him to f-off, but he's giving me more than my car is worth as long as I keep below a certain milage. He even asked me to call him if I get close to going over the milage limit needed for him to give me the trade in amount so he could give me a loaner until the car arrives. Plus I don't want to start back to 1000. What do you guys suggest? He said the system only updates on Thursdays.

OK...mines a little a different...

a couple of weeks ago the 800 number told me I had a TPW of 4/18

I followed up with my dealer yesterday and was told that I was still at 3000 and did not have an estimated production week.

So....who's right and who's wrong?

Motivation on the customer service side is to 'get me off the phone' as quick as possible...and in a good mood.

Motivation on the dealer side...that's a bit harder to figure out...


So...I sit confused.

the 1-800 service wont give you a event code... they can tell you what is happening, but they dont have the event codes... when you get a person you have to ask for Vehicle Order Status... then they will make a call for you to that dept.. but you wont get an event code since that is in workbench.

Maybe we should all call the 800 number and just inundate them with phone calls from all of us pre-orders and see if that makes a difference to GM? Is anybody down with that?

If we could check the event code on our own, we wouldn't need the dealer haha They're just a middle man, put there to take the money and deliver the car.
