Worth buying 1LE parts?

I have a standard SS and will do some suspension work to handle track days better. Found a 1LE package with sway bars, shocks and springs. Worth doing since itīs matched well to our cars or better to by other brands and maybe get even better handling for the same cost?

Thought about stock shocks and H&R springs but might perform bad?

I think it really depends on what your goals are. The 1LE suspension compared to the road race aftermarket suspension I had on my 2002 Camaro handles better and rides better at the same time.

The 1LE package in my opinion is one of the best for ride quality and handling at the same time.

Now if you want to lower your car or have adjustability at the track then you will probably want to look to the aftermarket.

If you are not really serious about tracking your car anyhow then I think you would get the most enjoyment out of the 1LE suspension. Great handling (more than you can really take full advantage of on the street anyhow) but a very good ride quality so you don't rattle your teeth out while cruising around.

Also depends on the price you can get the 1LE stuff for. That might make it a "no brainer" or it might make you evaluate other options for the price range.

Exactly my point, donīt want that on this car, trying to stay away from coilovers. The only bad part with the 1LE is the height, too much air between tire and fender on the car I saw. Just afraid to kill the 1LE perfection with H&R springs (35mm drop).

Well if money isn't as big of a concern you could also wait for JusticePete to release his drop knuckles. That will give you a 1"drop and maintain all suspension geometry. Look for his post here in the suspension forum regarding these parts.

The 1LE an SS springs are the same so no need to change them out. But you could ZL1 springs it gives you about 3/4" drop

The ZL1 springs are not a linear spring (where as the 1LE springs are a linear spring rate) so for predictable handling it's best to not use the ZL1 springs.

That being said, many people have done this though and there really are no issues with it that you'll probably notice unless you start pushing the car closer to it's limits.

As Pete indicated above though, if you have a little patience there will likely be some better "Black Magic" options coming out soon from JPSS.

The factory has been chasing my stuff for years. Can you imagine how it must have hurt for them to put 305/30/19s on the Z/28 when my test car had them back in the fall of 2009? If I can't make it better and faster than TEAM Camaro (and TC has done nothing short of an AMAZING JOB) I won't make it.

FYI - JPSS 27mm front and 32mm rear bars will be ready to ship in less than 30 days.

If you let Pete be your guide to the mods you do on your suspension I think you'll be very happy. I met Pete in person at Camaro5fest IV and talked to him quite a bit. He has an unmatched passion & enthusiasm for the Camaro. I know I've been waiting to see what he is going to come out with.
