How bad do you see swirl marks in your car/color?

Hi All,

My order is still at 1100 but should be going in very soon. I currently have my order for a black camaro because it just looks evil in the pictures. However black cars are one of the most notorious colors for showing swirl marks / spider webs in the paint. I was just curious for those of you that own black (GBA), cyber grey (CGM), Aqua Blue (ABM), or Imperial blue (IBM), have you developed any swirl marks since you have picked up your car(s)? I think i'm getting cold feet on the black idea, just wanted to see what others thought before I finalize the order prior to 2000 status. Thanks in advance.

Don't get cold feet--it is an awesome looking color! Granted, I have only washed mine once, but I was very careful. I have a 2 year old black Silverado that I am not nearly as anal about, and it looks great still! Admittedly, one can see lines, etc in full on sunlight, but a good waxing has her looking great. Get the black and just be CAREFUL!

Check out my thread. You don't have to have swirls on black cars.

Used a soap gun to get the top layer of dirt off, only use microfiber, keep wax on the car

Thanks for understanding smhss, i feel less of the cold feet syndrome. lol Awesome looking car mojave! I'll take both of your advice into consideration. I currently drive a 2007 nissan xterra in night armor very similar to cyber grey (CGM), but my neighbor has cats that they let roam free and on many occassions I have found the cats asleep on my hood which is one source of paint swirls that I can predict. The other is NY idiot people who like to and can't look from a distance at a car but would rather rub up against it.

ABM doesn't show swirls or dust. One reason I bought it.

My rally yellow shows swirls but only in the most direct of sunlight, under florescent lights it looks flawless

My Cyber Grey Vette doesn't have any yet and I'm very particular with it. My IBM TBSS looked great, but under the lights you could see swirls.

Here is a post with before and after on cars with swirl marks using a FLEX buffer.

Thanks all for your input...i've really been thinking about it and looking at other cars of various colors in the parking lot at my office and even though I am meticulous with my cars & truck. Its a tough decision, but I may end up going down a custom paint route so I can get the best of 2 worlds.
