Finally saw a 2SS IOM in person- thoughts

I have seen a lot of posts on here from people trying to describe the Inferno Orange Metallic and how it looks and whether its good or bad or other. This is important to me because I have been going back and forth over whether to get a rally yellow or Inferno Orange 2SS.

I had seen a few Rally Yellow Camaros in person but I had never seen the IOM in person. I saw it on a Tahoe but its just not the same.

An IOM 2SS came in to my dealer yesterday and I finally got to see it up close and in person. Now that I've seen it, I'm definitely getting the Rally Yellow. Not that the IOM is necessarily bad, its just not for me.

I've had 3 red cars in a row so I didn't want another red or anything close to red. Also, if I was going to get IOM, I wanted it to be something closer to hugger orange.

The IOM only looks orange out in direct sunlight. If its dark, or in the shade, or if you're wearing sunglasses, or its couldy, or you're looking at it through a window, you can easily mistake it for red. When I first walked up to it, sitting in the shade, I thought it was red until I got within about 25 feet.

I would say that IOM reminds me somewhat of cream of tomato soup unless its in the sun and the metallic shine can come out.

Anyway, if you are thinking about getting IOM, I storngly suggest you see it in person before making a final decision. Just my 2 cents.

accurate description....I've seen one in person too. Half of it was in the sun and the other half in the shade, and that's exactly how I would describe it.

Yeah, it shows up in a bunch of different ways. People considering that color should experiment with it in different lighting...

I like that it looks different at times.........works for me and at least 30 other people on here I believe. I hope they stop making the IOM after mine gets built. Okay.......maybe not just not so many where I live.

I have a red mustang and a IOM 2SS and even in the shade, sitting next to the mustang it is clearly orange, but if the mustang or another red car isn't next to it, it does look a little red in the shade. But, when you see this color in the sunlight, it's just amazing, I love it, it's a bright orange, and the metal flake makes it kind of change color a little depending on how it hits it. I'm glad I decided to get IOM, but it's not for everyone.

Haha, I agree with that, I was hoping IOM wasn't going to be popular but I think a lot of people like it and will get it on theirs.

Ive got it and think its the best color option period. Its try about the red in the shade look. But thats good one day your driving a orange camaro the next a red one. People will think your just rich.

I originally ordered IOM and then seen it in person. It is NOT for everyone. I went with IBM. IOM is tomato soup not hugger orange. For those of you that think it is orange, go to the store and get some oranges or crayons. Different strokes for different folks.

The reason why I went with IOM was easy. All the boring people I know, when I told them that I was getting a orange Camaro they told me not to. They said an orange car is ugly. So yep, I chose Orange.

I love the way my iom changes color. Every one that I've talked to has told me how cool it is. One neighbor called the great pumkin. I said damn right. Your right though to each his own
