Has any one heard anything from their dealers about how many cars they were able to get in the first batch and actually placed those orders? I can not get a response from my dealer and I haven't heard to much chatter on this site about hard numbers.Are there any hard facts on numbers actually sent in to gm or still just guessing amd hoping?

I went to two local dealerships yesterday:

Sansone @ Perth Amboy, NJ:
"Uhhh, no idea. I have two orders so far. I think we will be getting a V8 showroom car." I asked the guy if they will be marking up the cars and he was like "I don't think so, this Z06 here is marked up and has been sitting here for weeks already, but let me make sure." He calls his manager, asks him if the cars will be marked up and the guy goes "Most likely"...

Lucas Chevrolet, Woodbridge, NJ:
"No idea, but I have like 15 orders already, if you don't order RIGHT NOW you won't get the car until 2011!"

Here's my take (my opinion only folks).

On Friday, GM basically gave everyone 10% but didn't round up. If you had a PGN of 69, you got 6 on Friday, 10, you got 1 on Friday, if you had 9, you got 0. Supposedly this is only for the remaining two weeks of March (not a full month's run). Don't know about you but that impresses the hell out of me.

That's my take on it too. After all, the concensus is for only a two week period, March 16 through March 31. And yes, it appears their initial production rate is not all that low.

If you don't order now you won't get a Camaro till 2011? Are you kidding? So how did they produce sometimes over 100,000 in the past models and 40,000 in 2002. Has GM already decided on how many models they will make? I thought it was supply and demand, Help me out here what am I missing?

You're missing that it's only 2009 and it's a 2010 model year car. It could be 2010 before you see one if you don't order soon, but not 2011...

but...but...my dealership only gets 6 :( no word on anyone w/ allotment less than 10 getting a march consensus?

the owner is calling me tomorrow to talk about my order and i'll get all my solid info about my order from him since my 'dealer' is an idiot (nice guy, just oblivious)
