I couldn't do the simple programming on my garage door. We had to do the steps that involved doing something with the dip switches on the motor of the opener. Have you done that?

You may have to push a button on you opener to get it to "sync" with your car, it shows how in you owners manual.

I had to get a ladder, push the learning button on the garage motor, step off the ladder & run to the car and push the universal button till it blinked. Then it worked. Some openers have a higher level of security and this is why you must do the above.

That's what I meant. But my hubby was on the ladder and I was in the car.

Im still surprised your having so much trouble with the homelink thing...if i can remember correctly you hold the button for like 10 seconds or so until it flashes rapidly then you go to the garage and open the cover to find the learn button u press it and run back to your car and hold the button and press your garage opener remote button and keep holding it until it learns it...then check to see if it works...i think those are the steps or something...(but one thing to remember is you only have less then 30 seconds after you press the learn button on your garage opener and run to your car) hope this helps...

It's definitely easier with 2 people...one in the car and one in the garage. It really wasn't difficult, though.
