I have a problem with the amp it doesn't achieve the volume you would want going down the highway wind noise drowns it out.

The Alpine system in my 2013 RAM is better, same with wife's SRT Cherokee. ZL1=great performance, but crap for a sound system and the MyLink is a joke. A car of this value should do better...

The ba is fine for a stock system, but it lacks wattage in order to be a high output sound system. The sound range is actually good, but at the least you will need a sub in order to get any meaningful low end out of it.

I also thought the BA system in my (now sold) ZL1 was weak for it to be considered top-of-the-line for the Camaro. The Alpine in my Jeep and the Bose in my Silverado are much, much better sounding in terms of midrange, high, bass, overall strength, and clarity.

Compared to the radio in the Z/28, it is very good. Seriously, it could have been better but it wasn't horrible in my ZL1. I am not that critical with stereos as I enjoy the music coming from under the hood much more!

All the ZL1's got the same system. You couldn't opt out.

Feed the system Wav files and it sounds better than MP3. Your flash drive can only contain Wav files alone. If you mix mp3 and wav files on the same drive, the wav will not display.

The stock "premium audio" system in my 07 Saturn Aura XR sounds much better. Now that I have upgraded the head unit to a Pioneer FH-X700BT, it's sounds even better!! The BA system is lacking a tight low end and clarity. It needs way less mids and a little less treble. I've EQed it to the point where I almost have all the mids out and the bass halfway up and still sounds like shit. Although, I have noticed that when you turn the volume up it starts to sound better, but the higher you go it'll start to break up.

But then again, I didn't buy a ZL1 for the sound system.

1. Center dash speaker: 3.5"
2. Left door: 1"
3. Left door: 6.5"
4. Right door: 1"
5. Right door: 6.5"
6. Left rear: 1"
7. Left rear: 6"x9"
8. Right rear: 1"
9. Right rear: 6"x9"

I believe the verts have 6.5" in side panels (vs. 6"x9") and sub for 10 speakers.

Strange- my 15 2LT has the Boston setup and after a couple weeks of breaking in, it is pretty decent. Feeding the right source to it, it can vibrate the mirror to the point it's not usable without distorting. It's not as good as my 15 Impala with base stereo, but it's not terrible. I'm putting in a small sub and a BBE processor for the front channels and that should correct the bad imaging.
