brake upgrade for 2LT non-rs

i want to install a better brake kit on my car, but i want them to fit under the stock 19 inch rims. i there a brembo kit or baer or anything that people are doing. whenever i do a search its always for SS camaros. oh and how would upgrading breaks affect the traction control and stabilitrack systems?

The ss brembos can go on the lt and ls camaros. It's a complete system swap. Callers aand brake control module I believe... not sure on the technical aspect. Its expensive, that part I do know. What are you doing that requires the brembo size brakes? Or is this just a cosmetic upgrade?

its just cosmetic, but it doesnt hurt to have better brakes, i read somewhere that the brembos dont fit under the 19 inch wheels, only the 20 inch wheels.

That would be the aftermarket Brembos. I run the Cadillac CTS-V / Z28 brakes on my Camaro with 19 inch wheels and have no fitment issues. The most cost effective upgrade for your would be to grab a set of SS take-offs. They will bolt on. If you want more braking use the GM parts bin and to the CTS-V upgrade.

When we upgraded my 1LT/RS to SS Brembos we had to cut out part of the dust shield on the rear wheels because the rotors are so much larger then the LS/LT's. On the LS/LT's the dust shield bends outward towards the rotors after the radius of the LS/LT rotors but before the radius of the SS rotors so that portion needed to be cut off of the dust shield.

Yes, thats the only modification that needs to be done, Or you can get a set of new dust shields so you dont need to cut.

other than that, its a pretty straight forward swap.

If you do any amount of auto cross or high speed road course work, just too the dust shields out. Unless you use them to mount brake duct hoses.

i already new about having to cut the dust shield, but i read that the 19 inch wheels were to small for the brembos to bit under.

so if i bought i pai of SS take-offs, the brembos would fit on the car with no problem? keep in mind that i have the 19 inch wheels, not the 20 inch wheels that come with the SS, and RS camaros.

My 19" Forgeline wheels fit even with the six piston CTS-V calipers. I have not tried the OE 19s.
