Actually considering that the Boss is typically faster than the CTSV, and the Hellcat was faster than the boss, it probably isn't safe to assume that even with turns a CTSV equipped "With a world class chassis and exceptional handling" would be able to hold off a Hellcat.

More hyperbole from your alternate reality. Let's look at the facts.

Boss 302
Car&Driver: 0-60, 4.2sec; 1/4mile 12.7 @ 114mph; 3641lbs Laguna Seca
Road&Track: 0-60, 4.0sec; 1/4mile 12.3 @ 115.8mph; 3621lbs Laguna Seca
MotorTrend: 0-60, 4.0sec; 1/4mile 12.4 @ 113.9mph; 3638lbs Laguna Seca
Car&Driver: 0-60, 4.3sec; 1/4mile 12.8 @ 113mph; 3666lbs
MotorTrend: 0-60, 4.0sec; 1/4mile 12.3 @ 115.9mph; 3621lbs

CTS-V
Car&Driver: 0-60 in 4.3, 12.6 1/4mile at 116.0mph, 4292lbs
Edmunds: 0-60 in 4.3, 12.4 1/4mile at 114.7mph, 4313lbs*
MotorTrend: 0-60 in 4.0, 12.4 1/4mile at 117.0mph, 4292lbs
Road&Track: 0-60 in 4.1, 12.3 1/4mile at 118.4mph, 4300lbs
Car&Driver: 0-60 in 3.9, 12.2 1/4mile at 119.0mph, 4268lbs*
Edmunds: 0-60 in 4.3, 12.5 1/4mile at 115.3mph
MotorWeek: 0-60 in 4.2, 12.5 1/4mile at 118.0mph
Road&Track: 0-60 in 4.1, 12.3 1/4mile at 118.8mph, 4130lbs
Road&Track: 0-60 in 4.2, 12.5 1/4mile at 115.3mph, 4360lbs

Boss: 0-60 in 4.1, 12.5 1/4mile at 114.5mph, 3637lbs
CTS-V: 0-60 in 4.1, 12.4 1/4mile at 116.9mph, 4279lbs winner, winner

While the Boss (2-seater track car) is faster than a CTS-V (luxury sedan) on a track, the straight-line speed favors the Cadillac. Nice try though.

Whoa, whoa, wait a minute. Where is this same day head-to-head comparison published? Let me guess, the old Detroit city airport? Haahahahhahaa

So devoid of any actual facts or data, we are to assume that car X is faster than car Y? I thought you were better than this! Wow.

I've seen a few dozen now, even had one line up on me, but it was not a safe place to "go." Seen HellCat Chargers, too. One word, Rude!

I also don't understand your obsession over the automatic. You're in an automatic, you act as if an auto HellCat would have some sort of unfair advantage.

My point exactly. You've seen a dozen and still haven't had opportunity to run one. I've seen ZERO. Odds of all factors aligning and being in a place that wouldn't endanger bystanders are slim to none. Hell, I haven't ever seen a SRT8 want to play. How many tens of thousands of those are running around?

My comment about the auto was pointing out the fact that the two manual Failcats tested so far ran a 12.5 (Edmunds) and 12.0 (Road&Track). Color me unimpressed.

Really? Didn't the first Helcat Challengers just start getting delivered? You've seen a few dozen driving in the cold, snow covered streets of Detroit?

Thought the Charger Hellcats haven't been delivered yet?

Well, since Hellcats are just now being delivered, no one has really seen them out on the streets yet. Give it a few months, you will. Then let us know how that goes.

No matter what the tested track results are (may vary with real world results), not an issue for me as I don't track my cars. For guys that do, yeah it's a valid point if that is what someone is buying the car for (if I were, I would be going with the ZL1). I like the fact that the car has straight line power that will be hard to match for any other car straight from the factory, can seat 5 (4 adults comfortably) with a huge trunk for an every day use car, and can be had with an 8 spd auto which mine will be.

MEDISIN,

You don't live too far from me. Do you track your CTS-V a lot? Are you going to the track anytime soon, if so, which track?

Just wondering.

Yea, I thought the same thing. I'm sure there was some exaggeration. Like there's a Hellcat on every corner now.

Occasionally track the V when I have others with me (family/friends who want to experience a road course but aren't ready to be strapped into the Corvette). We have a modified C6 GS for track use. Usually do weekends at VIR and Road Atlanta. Sometimes run with friends up north at Lime Rock. Next session likely be Road Atlanta in February.

Been to VIR a couple of times. Plans are to go in 2015. I would like to try Road Atlanta at least once. Heard its a great track.
