Deal or Somewhat of a Deal?

Looking at:

1SS Imperial Blue Metallic
Black Cloth
Automatic
White Stripe Package
Polished Wheels

This is on the paper the dealer gave me:

  • MSRP 33,730
  • Savings 1,279 (400+Dealer Fee taken out)
  • USAA 750
  • Adj Sale Price 31,701
  • Dealer Fee 879
  • Taxabale Fees 108 (?)
  • Sub Total 32,688
  • Tax 2,056.28
  • Non Taxable Fees 8.50 (?)
  • Tag Fee 400
  • Net Sales 35,152.78
I think too many fees going on.

My dealers fee was $250 and I thought that was a bit high, but $879 ?
And what is a taxabale fee of $108 and non-taxable fee of $8.50 ?

The savings = 1279.00 (400 and dealer fee taken out)

If you look they added the dealer fee right back into the price....you need to either point that out or go to another dealer. They are trying to screw you

That is the feeling I got, because they were really trying to push the sale. South Florida dealerships are crazy with the dealer fees and creative accounting.

Yes they are I dealt with them for awhile. Talk to Angela at Dyer Chevrolet. I discussed the price i was willing to pay and they agreed and they got me the car in 2 days. Couldn't be happier.

I paid $28,300 + Tag out the door for a Car with an MSRP of $27,525.

They took about $1,700 off the MSRP plus no Dealer Fee. Good Luck let me know if you need some help.

So basically (this is how I would look at it):
  • Car 33,330 (MSRP - $400)
  • USAA 750
  • Adj Sale Price 32,580
  • Tax 2,056.28
  • Tag Fee 400
  • Dealer Fees 116.5
  • Net Sales 35,152.78
The (discounted) fees sound reasonable, but you're only getting $400 off MSRP. I'd be looking for at least $1000 off MSRP (ask for $1250 off)

The $879 'dealer fee' is ridiculous - then they remove it to make you think you're getting a good deal.

It wouldn't hurt to check out another dealer just to see what they can do for you. Looks like a lot of "hidden" fees.

Dealer "fee" should be exactly $0.00, no more, no less.

My 1SS was 32,867.00 out the door , that includes everything TTL. I thought that was a decent deal. I know there are better deals out there than what I got and there are better deals out there than what you were qouted. You just need to shop for the deal you are comfortable with making.........Good kuck and enjoy your new Camaro!!

Don't use the bathroom at your dealer...they will add a TP document usage fee.

Check with another dealer.

Thanks for all the input everyone.

Just want to let you guys know that I had to go through 5 quotes just to get to this one here. Tropical Chevrolet seems really sketchy to me.

Going to keep looking, even though I am having a hard time finding a 1SS without ordering or getting it from another state.

I know your feeling. I wound up ordering mine in may because I couldn't find the car I wanted. A 1SS is a bit of a rare bird and when you start nitpicking the options and color you want ,like I did it gets real hard to find. I wanted a 1SS Non RS with a 6 speed manual and Inferno Orange paint with Beige interior and I would not budge on any of it. So I had to order the car to get it how I wanted...........Good luck
