Photos From the Recent Hotchkis Track Test
We don't mean to brag but we are very fortunate to have sunny Southern California weather nearly year round. We took advantage of the sunshine in early January and had our first track test of 2010 at Willow Springs.
The main focus of the test was to validate our new 2010 Camaro Track Pack suspension system, which includes Sport Lowering Springs, Adjustable Sport Sway Bars and the Chassis Max Subframe Brace. Three new SS Camaros were on-site, all with identical engines, wheels and tires. Two were left stock, one was equipped with the Hotchkis Camaro Track Pack. All three cars were put through their paces on the road course, the slalom and the skid pad. Once our factory drivers and engineers made their runs, journalists from Autoblog, Car Craft and Super Chevy took turns behind the wheel. The results will be posted soon in a new video, and it's safe to say that the Track Pack is one of the most incredible bang-for-your-buck mods you can make to a new Camaro. Other highlights included Carl Casanova and his Hotchkis TVS equipped, supercharged 1968 Camaro screaming around the track at full speed as we tested our latest upper and lower A-Arms, and a 4th Gen Camaro TVS test where the car pulled over .9G on the skid pad. Super Chevy was there, and already has a teaser up on their blog. Overall it was a fantastic day at the track, and we want to thank Sam, Rob and Trish for letting Mark warm up their tires! We feel that thorough and rigorous track testing sets us apart from our competition, and we're lucky to have the weather to test all year! Stay tuned for some of our most action-packed videos yet! If you can't wait, check out the photos on our Hotchkis Sport Suspension Facebook page. For more information, come to www.hotchkis.net Last edited by Hotchkis; 01-25-2010 at 04:34 PM. |

Thanks! It's an addictive habit.
Track days are fun, especially when real testing can be done. The Hotchkis 5th gen was pretty impressive. I don't know the numbers, but the Hotchkis car was significantly more stable on the road coarse and through the cones than the stock car. |

No offense to the 5th gen fans, but I hope that Carl's 68 lays the smack down on you guys. What tires were you running that day?

Hi all, here are the testing numbers from our first test. We ran clockwise on the Streets of Willow. Streets is a configurable track, and we did not run the full course. Cars were on stock wheels and street tires, and the surface temp never was more than 50deg F during the tests. The surface varied from 38 deg when we started driving to 50 deg mid day. This is why the skid pad numbers for the stock 2010 Camaro are lower than many others tested.
In our tests, we are not comparing these numbers to any other skid pad or slalom numbers, we are looking at the improvement for each car over the stock performance. If you have any questions about specific vehicles, post them up, or PM me, I’ll be happy to answer you. In next month’s test we are looking forward to seeing how quick Dan’s 4th Gen Camaro is on the road course. |

Wow
It's nice to see that my wife's stock 5th gen "smoked" the Challanger! It will be even better next time, now that we are Offically Modified. I would like to add a special Thanks to Aaron and all the guys at the Hotchkis shop for doing a great job on my wife's car. You Guy's Rock I would also like to Thank Mr. Hotchkis for the "goodie" bag, Love the t-shirts and stickers. Here are a few pics... I can't wait for the next track day!!!
