Went to the strip today after new mods

Now.... To start with, let me say I'm slightly about my passes today. I've run my car a few times after each mod i've added and have seen improvements each time. Now the fastest I've run which I only made 1 or 2 passes was a 12.8 with CAI, LT's, Axle Back exhaust. That was in 90 degree heat last year.

Since then, I have added a TSP cam, tune and Nitto DR's and was really expecting to pick up a decent amount.... NOT so much!! I cannot get my 60' times below a 2.1 with all this above. I was 1.9's before cam, tune and DR's running the 12.8.

Today, All i could do was 2.1 60', and best 1/4 was 12.335 at 118 mph. I could not get my 60' below that... no matter what.... I'm beginning to think my stock clutch can't handle it... Has anyone had anything similar to this? or could suggest anything!... My car is a M6, LS3.... 469 SAE whp.

Oh... my other 60' were 2.2 and 2.3's?!?!

Just to correct myself... I did run a 2.0 on the first pic...

That time is pretty good for a N/A car. I'm ordering line lock system tonight , those drag radials need to be heated up to stick.

The times are ok.... but I'm leaving alot on the line... the car didn't hardly spin any leaving the line. Some of the guys in our group had 1.8 60' and running 12.5 with Headers, CAI and Tune.

It almost seems like the clutch is dragging when I try to get into from a standstill... and I'm not riding the clutch at all

Those 60s are terrible man, you have a MUCH faster car! Something is up... your 60 should be at lest 1.75-1.8 easy and that would put you in the mid 11.5s! That MPH could turn low 11s Did you try a 4 grand launch and slip the clutch out just a bit? The one thing is that with your cam, the power will come on hard at a higher RPM, and with your cam and DRs you cant launch the car the same as before. You definitly need to get your revs up nice and high but dont shock your tires and dump the clutch. I bet its just your launch method at this point.

I know... I was so pissed when I left today... the mph is higher than I expected... but getting from 0 to 60' is killing me. I'm gonna try a different launch... I started once today around 2000 rpm and still didn't get under a 2.1... I will try to post my slips tomorrow... I don't have a scanner, so I gotta take pics and load em.

Sounds like your launching your car at to low of a rpm. Drag radials + low rpms will bog you. Increase your rpms, also what tire pressure you running?

the OP's times are great in my opinion. There's room for improvement on his 60' time, 1.8 is probably going to be the best he can do. I know there's some formula for figuring out what each mS saved on the 60' yields on the ET.

I'm considering a better clutch at the moment as well.... my tire pressure was 20lbs.

I'm loading Pics to the original post now....

I'm gonna try a higher RPM launch next week if the track opens. Does anyone think a better clutch would make any difference?.... I've always been able to get 1.9's with street tires and bolt on mods prior...

You have an easy 11 sec car just need to work on your launch.

Thanks!... All you guys can help build alot of confidence ... I just gotta figure the 60' out!

I can say I wasn't expecting the MPH to be that high... I was honestly expecting 114 -116 max range.... so I'm pleased with that!

none as of now... I was waiting to hit the track for the first time to see what it would do. I am gonna put lower trailing arms on it, but I also haven't dealt with any wheel hop since i started running the car.
