Rear wheel spacers? Opinions?

So I'm considering a small spacer for my rear wheels just to get them to have the beautifully flush fitment that our front wheels have. 22-25mm max. I figure a little bit more rear track can't hurt, and if Porsche used 3" spacers on their old widebody turbo cars, how bad of an idea can it really be?

For reference, I do track my car occasionally and I could always remove the spacers for a track day if it's not a good idea to run them.

I'm looking at the hub-centric H&R Trak+ wheel spacers.

I use 5mm (.19") spacers on my track wheels, still plenty of threads engaged so no issues or concerns.

This is the first I'd heard of the H & R spacers. I'd like to run some spacers too, and I'm interested to hear the consensus on using them in competition.

I'm running 12" wide rear wheels with Hoosiers and a big wing, so I'd say the approach has been stress tested

Yeah, if they're working for you, they'll definitely work for me. I wasn't trying to say I didn't believe you, but this thread is the first time I've come across a potentially useful discussion of them, so I'm here to learn.

I have H&R 22mm rear and 20 mm front spacers with the factory rear 9in wheels up front with 275-40's and some factory 9's widened to 10-3/4 with 315-35's in the rear with no problems.

Oh nice! Have any pictures of it set up like that? I'll have a square set of 20x9 stock wheels on the car by March, and this would be a good option. I could even widen them all to 20x10 if I wanted to...

I have run spacers on other cars, but have always swapped the lugs over to ARP studs and open ended nuts.

Note: a good quality spacer will have a hub centric ring machined into it the same OD as the center bore of the stock hub it is covering up.
