2lt isn't exactly a base model Camaro. It's the top of the line V6.

Let's put this another way.

The Genesis has a track package and performs slightly better than the V6 Camaro but costs somewhat more.

On the other side you have the Camaro turning heads and stopping traffic everywhere it first appears, while the Genesis is invisible to the general public.

I would say that counts for something.

I would'nt say that. Go over to the gencoupe forum and there are all kinds of reports of double takes and people digging the car. It sounds like it looks even better in person too.

What do you expect on a genesis forum?

I was referring to the general public.

Sore, you roll into a "tuner" meet with a genesis and there's bound to be some people who are into that type of car who will give it attention.

What I am referring to is the general non-car masses here:

How many local and national news programs had a segment about the unveiling of the genesis coupe?

How many mainstream media reviews of the genesis went out of their way to point out the way the car attracted attention and drew crowds?

I'm sure you could probably find a forum where some owner was bragging about getting attention, and maybe a review or two which said some people turned their heads or were surprised it was a hyundai... but it's far and away NOT the same kind of appeal as the new Camaro. You will never convince me it's the same thing.

As far as I'm concerned the crowd appeal of the genesis is going to be much the same as a new Accord or new Camry... i.e. minimal.

I'm just saying the new gencoupe has been turning some heads of the "general public". Maybe it won't turn as many as the camaro as I agree it does look a little better IMO, but some people like the sleeker look of the gen better. I think both cars need some work on the front end though. BTW, the new mustang looks pretty good to me too and I'm sure it won't turn as many heads as the other two since its not a whole lot different than the last model, but it sure is quick for "only" having 315hp...

I don't get why they think this is a good comparison. Sure, performance numbers are close but I severely doubt anybody is debating which one they should buy. They just don't get it? I guess they had to have some V6 that could come close in performance.
Will they compare it to the 2010 Taurus SHO 3.5 liter DI twin turbo luxury sedan next. Hey its got more horsepower...

Both are v6 RWD sport coupes. It seems like a good comparison to me.

Lets looks at the specs.

Both V6
Both RWD
Both IRS
Both 6 speed manual
Both Sport coupes
Both similar size (camaro a bit bigger)
Both start less than $30K ($22k camaro vs $25k gen coupe)

And you dont see why this isnt a good comparison?
