Swapping out Front Bumper Covers - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I purposely bought the 2lt over the SS for several reasons, number one is that this will be my wifes daily driver, and secondly we just couldn't justify ordering the 2SS with everything we wanted.

That being said, I love the SS Mailslot on the front bumper. I am thinking about buying a bumper and switching it out. Any ideas on how big a PITA it will be and will I need to buy anything other than the bumper itself to install it?

I've taken quite a few front bumpers off of several cars, it shouldn't be a PITA. Just remember to be very careful & don't force anything.

You will more than likely find someone around these forums that wants to trade, post #2 for example.

No, I'm buying the Rally Yellow. I figure I'll just repaint whatever I get.

A trade would be nice though! It would sure beat trying to sell it hoping to make some money back on the deal.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't figure it would be a big deal, just trying to figure out whether or not it would be worth it to do it (I say yes

) and whether or not it is worth paying the body shop to do the install.

In my exp. (not that much), as soon as you start forcing it, it cracks and breaks.

the one additional thing would be the lower grill, there different. there is one on ebay. it had a "scuff" on it acording the the listing, I saw it last night when I was looking around.

I saw that and I've been on the fence about buying it. I think the price is good, but wonder how long I'll sit on it before I can get it painted.

changing the front covers is very easy, you will have to pull the front fender liners out to access the bolts at the front of the fender the rest is cake.

Im gonna be buying one without the mailslot, the body shop told me the cost was $330 for it. Not too bad.

Unfortunately, the one thats on my car is damaged.
