That's easy to say but pretty hard to prove one way or another. The Phillies' NLCS loss always had MUCH more to do with their hot bats peaking and cooling off prior to the postseason than it had to do with the quality of our pitching. Everything else being equal (which it never is but you get the idea), if we'd been able to turn a couple more runs in a couple more games the result could have been very different. Add another ace to the mix or have the more talented Lee in place of Oswalt like they tried to do midseason, and that also could have tipped the scales our way.

It's all moot because the way all the variables lined up SF got the wins, but if this Phillies team with this rotation isn't guaranteed invincible, then neither are the Giants or Yankees or anyone else. No matter how you look at it the Phils have a ton of talent and this adds at least a distant possibility of having such talent that the bullpen can sleep through every game - it doesn't matter who you are, that's something every team would like to have.

Sure, bring something up that happened in the seventies. Keep in mind Cliff Lee WANTED to come to Philly. Roy Halladay and Roy Oswalt WANTED to come to Philly. It is a very passionate sports town. The fans DO let the players know how they feel and when they feel let down or disappointed. (hence when Mike Schmidt had to go to games in disguises)

How about the fact that Yankee fans threw beers and other things at Cliff Lee's wife?? It happens in all passionate sports towns, Philly, Boston, NYC, LA, Chicago. Its just somehow the stigma stuck on Philly even though it happens in every town. Hell if LA wins a championship in any sport they riot in the damn town.
