My 2LS...

Just wondering about something. I believe mine has the 2.92 axle. I've run a couple times, but I try not to do anything crazy (long burnouts for one). The first time I ran I just took off from a standstill. Ran around a 15.3.

Second time I tried to match RPM's, holding somewhere between 2000-2200rpm. Ran 14.682, and the only thing that I had added was a VR intake.

It just worries me about that axle and if it's strong enough to handle takeoffs like that?

You should be fine my friend.

As long as you don't do any "neutral drops" it should be able to take the occasional full power launch. To my understanding, GM uses the same parts in our axles, just a different gearing ratio to sneak out that extra mile per gallon.

you'll be fine... street tires are most likely going to slip well before you break anything... and there are plenty of guys running on DR and even Slicks without any issues..

actually, the days of "neutral drops" are pretty much gone... In the Camaro the computer actually controls the shifts... so even if you rev it in neutral and drop it into Drive and the computer won't make the shift until the RPMS drop down to a reasonable range..

And exactly how do you know this??

Seriously, I used to do those back in the day and I cringe now when I think about it.
