Wheel Tubs and narrowed rear
Anyone know what the going rate is to have a car tubbed and install a narrowed 9" in a 67 or 68 camaro? I have been out of the hot rod stuff for awhile now...when i was a teenager it was $2500...i think i am in for a shocker now. Any ideas? and anyone know of any places in the Tampa area that do that?
thanks!

Are you looking to do DSE mini tubs?
They also have narrowed rear ends to boot. HIGHLY recommended and great customer service. Check'em out; www.detroitspeed.com |

Mini-tubs in a first gen takes around 30 hours give or take.. just times that by the shop's hourly rate.
First gens are a lot of work (more than second gens) since you have to notch the frame. Convertables are a bit harder.

For $10k my shop will do two cars.. lol
Since you're in Florida call up Frank over at Prodigy Customs in Orlando.. tell him Steven Rupp sent you. They do this all the time and should be able to give you a firm price.

Rearend, axles, center section, four link, brakes, driveshaft, all tin work, paint, tie in cage, wheels and tires, and your paying a shop for the completed work.
Yes about 10K |

Are we talking about a mini tub or back half. I'm thinking he wanted it back half. Not a mini tub.
