All black stripes are flat black. Color stripes are like SEMI-GLOSS, some with metallic like silver. We had this confirmed from GM parts days ago.

Now we have it confirmed.

So, what kind of maintenance do these black stripes require? I assume you can't get wax on them. If you do, can wax be removed safely?

+1. Flat Black stripes - what a great thing for the paint shop industry. Hey ... lets all stimulate the economy by helping out our favorite paint shop.

Man, what are we paying for?! In the very least they could have gotten the stripes correct. Sheesh.

Ill hold judgement till I see them installed but right now, I dont like the sound of the semi-gloss black stripes. Semi-gloss is the same as semi-flat, DULL!

I just cancelled my stripes after talking to the local paint shop. I am going to have them painted on.....gloss black
How much did they quote you?

I ordered black stripes on my CGM, but I think flat will look bad. Maybe silver. Isn't there a silver?

I'm getting mine pained gloss black at a body shop. They quoted me $800, I gave them some pics of the bulblebee camaro because that's how I want mine painted. So I figure, it's a no brainer to have them painted, for only an extra $300 over the decal stripes.

How difficult would these stripes be to remove right away if I didn't want them? How difficult in a year or two from delivery? Never had decal stripes on a car before (At least decals this large) and it would comforting to know they could come off.

Thanks, Lovestanda
I can more than live with them...

They look very very good. I wanted glossy at first..but these are growing on me... RAPIDLY.

Pics later as promised - Just leaving work now!

At the dealer's body shop or 3rd party?

Flat black should look awesome on CGM or ABM.

They do have metallic in them...

They are shiny...and they look amazingly good. You almost have to see it to believe it.

Just want to point out that the stripes do not look flat on the website. Both the 3/4 view (like in Embalmer's signature) and in the top down view of the stripes themselves make them look glossy. Just saying, as with midnight silver wheels, the website could be more accurate. It wouldn't even be that hard to do.

What about the rally stripes? I always knew that the hockey stripes were flat black. But I thought the black rally stripes were gloss. Does anyone know?
